"I wrote the following review after dining at the restaurant but wanted to amend it to note that within 24 hours I was contacted by the restaurant to learn more about the issue. I was impressed with the follow up, genuine apology, and complete lack of defensiveness on the part of the restaurant management and that counts for something. Here was the original review: The service was friendly, but our server could not answer basic questions about the food and had to check with the kitchen. When a member of my party double checked to make sure a dish she was considering did not contain black pepper, and the server very confidently assured her that it did not, the food came our liberally sprinkled with black pepper. I ordered fish pie which is typically topped with whipped potatoes. While I didn't really expect it to be truly authentic, it was downright awful. A soupy mix with just a bit of shrimp and fish, topped with mounds of melted cheese that hardened into a glue-like mass. One person with us ordered bangers and mash and said the sausages were not very good. To be fair, one person ordered a burger and said it was decent. This is a very noisy casual restaurant with pretty low end food. I'm unlikely to return."
