"Ended up at this place by accident. My car was in the shop for repairs when the city shut the place down for a gas leak. Needed somewhere to spend a few hours. Glad I did! For the longest time I didn't even know this place was a Pub, but then you would not think it was given its unassuming strip small location. Walking in you are instantly transported out of Suburbia and into a very nicely furnished wood paneled bar and dining area. Staff were very attentive and polite, and happy hour goes from open to dinner time. Yay! I went basic and ordered the burger, and it was so good I had to take a picture. Excellent presentation, right amount of meat to bun and topping ratio, and the bun was delicious. All the little things that set great burgers apart from something you expect to find at a fast food joint. Even better, the fries were also delicious and not your generic frozen crinkled you would usually expect. Considering how busy the place was for lunch I can only conclude the other items were just as popular. Everyone around me seemed to have ordered a good mix, and the place was packed on a Thursday afternoon. Excellent establishment, with a keen attention for detail. It's the little things that set places apart. Even more tempting had it not been so early was their massive selection of whiskey. They have alot, and the discerning eye noticed a couple bottles that are hard to find. The owner of this establishment is clearly a man of culture and taste. My one minor gripe was that the music volume was a tad too loud for a Thursday afternoon lunch, but that is a gimme and probably a result of a staffer fat fingerings the button. 5 stars!"

"I have no idea why the RTD gave this out of stars. It was to stars at best. The atmosphere is nice, but our server seemed new and confused. stars says to me that everything is fantastic and he was definitely a weak link. I ordered Pellegrino or whatever bubbly water they carried and was told all they had was club soda. Ok, that's fine too, but it seems odd a restaurant of their supposed caliber wouldn't carry a mineral water. The waiter told us the specials, we ordered, he came back and said they were out of what I ordered. Ok. I ordered something else. He came back and told me they were out of that too. Ok. So I ordered the Arugula salad, which was interesting, but way too salty. I could actually crunch on grains of salt it wasn't because of cheese or dressing. The beef cheek tacos were tasty, but the special scallop tacos were bland and flavorless. The scallops were so undercooked that they tasted like ceviche. There were only choices for dessert ?! Our party of ordered both to split. The chocolate pot de creme was great but the Rosemary cake was just bad. It tasted like dense bread just weird. Overall, it was a pleasant place with amateur service and food that has hits and misses. If they can improve their waitstaff and fine tune their dishes, it may one day deserve the stars the newspaper gave them. I hope they do. It's a great location and we need a great, consistent restaurant in this part of town"
