"How Gramercy Tavern earned its reputation for good (or great) food is beyond me, my husband and our two dinner guests. The chefs/cooks appear to have dumped nothing other than salt on all the food. My entrée was so bad that it got sent back. My appetizer (pasta with Bolognese sauce) was drowning in oil; it was disgusting. At the end of the meal our waiter did the right thing; she took the cost of my dinner off the tab. If someone gave me a gift certificate to this restaurant, it would be thrown in the trash."

"Went for a relaxed birthday lunch with a friend. We specifically chose Nebo to try the zucchini lasagna and it did not disappoint! The burrata was extremely tasty as well. Well done. We loved our meal. My friend also has celiac disease and your staff were very accommodating and helpful."

"A grown up place to eat classic fare prepared and served with the utmost professionalism. When you have grown tired of the hype surrounding the latest and shiniest new restaurant in town that will only be open a couple of years, come to Grant Grill to get food and service that sets a strong standard by which to judge other places. I would not recommend this restaurant for people who want the latest, flashiest flavor of the month. Citrus and beet salad was just singing. Still thinking about that one. Grilled octopus was just smoky enough and served with a dollop of sturgeon caviar. Yum! Scallops are so good it will remind you why you like eating scallops. I loved the risotto entree. Tonight we stayed away from beef and pork, but I'm sure I'll get to those one day."

"So we turned up for our booking at Cantala restaurant, which we chose because we had seen good reviews and because we had looked into the room a couple of days previously whilst visiting the hotel's pool cafe for lunch. When we arrived we were told that the restaurant was no longer being used for dinner and that we would be seated in the Cafe Palmetto next door. This room had all the ambiance of a hospital canteen, bright lights and only one table occupied. They suggested we try the bar instead, but this was even worse. So we left, hungry and very disappointed at being so misled. It being the of December we were unable to dine anywhere else worth visiting"

"the food was good, but at my reservation there was no information that the breakfast was only until 11, which was a little disappointing. our reservation was around 11, if I had made another deal, I would have known. the host service was terrible. I came to make with a reservation that I made a month ago and the host was rude, not smile, welcome or welcome. She said very seriously that she was with us, then she turned her back to us when she had put the phone on. when I checked in, I mentioned my reservation and she said it wasn't there. she acted as if this was an inconvenience to put us, although I had placed a confirmation number for the reservation a month ago. once sitting, the service was great. our server was friendly, sweet and patient as we waited for our last part of the party. overall it was a good experience, but since the host is the first contact point, she really had me nervous for the experience. she was incredibly rude and has not tried to make us welcome."

"My friend and I went for out late bday dinner. Our waitress was amazing and the food was beyond perfect. We moved to the bar after dinner and Allyssa, Ryan and Trey made our drinks perfectly. They made us laugh and our drinks were so flavourful, They recommended some as well that were so refreshing. Couldn't have asked for a better night."

"As easy as it is to find enjoyable restaurants of every stripe in New York City, I can remember my parents laboring to find good ones in NJ, where I grew up. Now, having moved back after decades in NY, I have to concede what the owner of our local body shop says--there aren't enough good places. We tried Cafe Chameleon for the first time this weekend, and while the bar was hoppin, the dining room was calm, with two young servers handling five active tables spread out in the large room. There were half a dozen four-tops available, but we were seated next to a table with two couples who at times shrieked with laughter: my wife remarked quietly that, in France where she grew up, the maitre d' would have asked those diners to be more considerate. (It's possible the restaurant was trying to calm the couples by seating us there, as there had also previously been a group of diners at the table they placed us at. The drinks were good, and I imagine a serious wine enthusiast would enjoy the thoughtful list...don't know why the server didn't think to offer it...while the food was merely okay. (The octopus my wife and son shared was nicely prepared; the main courses were all meh. One of the co-owners greeted us warmly during the meal, after the loud couples had gone, and there may be good dinners to be had here, if someone knows what Chameleon does well, but this didn't join our slowly-growing list of till-next-time places."

"We stopped here before a show at the Hippodrome as we have done on many occasions. We’ve always had great food and drinks here so it was our show “go to” spot. However, this visit was just meh. One thing that we found odd was the we couldn’t order appetizers before ordering our food. Which is fine, but when our smoked brussel sprouts came out it was ice cold. Like, they put the order in with our drinks then left it there until we ordered food. We also ordered the duck ravioli and had to contend with bones in every bite. No one expects there to be bones in ravioli and it made it very unpleasant to eat. The drinks were great though."

"The music was too loud and the tables were arranged too close together. However, that was the only downside of the experience. The food was delicious and generously portioned."

"Perfect for a casual dinner with mostly great food. Best appetizers were the cauliflower fritto and the burrata. For entrees, the duck was delicious and the side order of shaved brussels sprouts for the table was divine. Noise level was a little higher than I like, but tables in the back where we sat are a little less noisy"

"We were quite underwhelmed by Madrona. The place is very stuffy — at 50 I brought the average age down significantly. Service was lackluster — took a while to be seated since the hostess was missing, for example, and water service was hit or miss. And the food was fine but not great — and unlike most restaurants of this caliber, there were no “extras” between or before courses. Final straw was that they had “forgotten” to order cheese and so couldn’t do a cheese plate despite having it on the menu. And after an appetizer, entree, and sharing a dessert I was still hungry. Sommelier was good though, as was the quite-good California Tempranillo he recommended."

"It took me a while to write this. It was last year December, I was wandering around the city to try to find somewhere cozy to sit and try to celebrate my birthday. This was a trip I made to try to enjoy life in general and leave behind bad thoughts, I was going trough a really hard time, it was my birthday I was alone in a city miles and miles away from family and friends that I had to leave behind for a while to get back to myself and heal from a really bad last few months. I still think of what the food there was, that it was so delicious and good food that it made me forget of the bad things, I really appreciate what I think the manager did because even though he didn’t say anything he saw that I wasn’t having a great time, but don’t get me wrong the food it was the best Italian I’ve ever had outside of Italy and the beer, wine and cocktails selection is so good. I am planning to travel again and actually enjoy it even more than I did. I got a salad that it was so good, the pasta to die for that is made there, the dessert ufff no words to describe and I want to go back there and thank in person for making not such a great night into something that I still till this day I remember and want to go back."

"Me and my friends all asked medium rare rib eyes. 2 were more on the medium side and one of the steaks was beyond overcooked. To add on to the wound, the steaks had no seasoning. No salt. Such a disappointment. I got Gaucho veggies and they came out cold. The carrots weren’t even cooked. It looks like they peeled, cut and served them without cooking. Another disappointment. Have had really bad experiences the last couple of times so I will most likely not be going back unless I get compensated for the disappointment that is my overcooked ribeye and undercooked and cold veggies."
