"The Old San Juan is truly beautiful, exemplary in its reconstruction and cleanliness, in the neatness of its preservation and the care it receives from locals and strangers alike. It may not be big, but exploring it thoroughly, takes time and many kilometers... Restoring your energy should always be a priority, and if you find a place that is open, welcoming, well-ventilated, and well-attended, and also offers authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, even better. And that is what the El Asador Ceviche de la Casa Restaurant offers us in the heart of the historical district: garlic shrimp, lobster or seafood risotto, soft corn tortilla tacos, Spanish-style grilled chorizo, various salads, and soups (seafood, pumpkin, lentil or chickpea) leading to a magnificent grilled steak, tenderloin, flavorful pork chops or simple chicken breasts, very tender, and for those who prefer fish from the seas surrounding the island, the taste of grouper, tuna or shrimp skewers or the catch of the day. But the star without a doubt is Puerto Rican cuisine, with mofongo as the main actor, the dish that should be offered at any restaurant boasting of Creole cuisine. It is made from fried green plantains or mashed yuca with garlic and then stuffed with seafood, shrimp, fried meat or chicken. All of this accompanied by green salad, baked or fried potatoes, yucca and sweet potato puree or in garlic sauce, rice and beans... infinite combinations. And to finish off, some delicious desserts like guava flan, cheese or coconut, guava slices with cheese, crepes with dulce de leche. Mmmm delicious. This parade of dishes takes place in a unique venue, with the typical patios of San Juan, and a view of the street that allows you to feel the pulse of the city and the tourists strolling by, delighting in the life of Old San Juan."

"We found this gem of a restaurant on Yelp and Open Table, and decided to give it a try....and had never had peruvian food before. Yes, it is a bit hard to find this restaurant (turn onto Commerce Parkway, then make the left into the Comfort Suites Hotel lot) just behind the main shopping center. Very stylish, modern and sleek inside we will be back soon. All we can say is WOW....the staff was great the waitresses knew the food and were a pleasure to speak with, they never intruded on us. The presentation is as good as the food! And the food let me say you should bring an appetite, and share with who ever is at your table. We appreciated the pace of the meal and service. We had both the Ceviche Mixto and Ceviche de Corvina with our friends and the lobster bisque (chupe de Langosta)...I love lobster bisque and this was spiced perfectly, as well as differently, than what I am used to . Loved that they shelled the lobster at the tablet to put in the bisque! Did i mention the portion sizes? 4 of us shared the soup! The Ceviche de Corvina had large pieces of fresh fish, perfectly presented and spiced. The Ceviche Mixto had octopus and other seafood....if you like ceviche you cannot go wrong with either one of these. AGain, the presentation is half the fun just make sure you have room on the table for the garnishes. For the meals we each decided to share with our spouses, as the appetizers were very filling. We had the Chaufa de Mixto (they had no skirt steak when we were there)....and it was plated in a chinese style ceramic take out box, with two red chopsticks what a delight! Our friends had Volcan de Mariscos this is a meal for two! the plate took up half their side of the table. Again the presentation was fantastic, and it tasted as good as it looked and smelled. For dessert we had the Suspiro Limeno and Volcan de Chocolat the only negative was the molten chocolate was not molten....and I am spoiled by my wife's version which is always perfect."
