"It's always a great experience at Bistro don Giovanni. On a pleasant afternoon the al fresco dining for lunch was magical. Our server let us chat and was attentive without being pushy. Always one of my favorite spots to bring new friends!"

"This restaurant is a hidden jewel in Atlanta. We were in Atlanta for the OU/LSU playoff game and found this restaurant had a time slot after the game. We made the reservation through Open Table. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Sam, our server, was very friendly, attentive and helpful. After our trip, we all rated this our favorite meal. The wine selection is very good and there is free valet parking. I would highly recommend this hidden jewel when visiting Atlanta. The fish special was red snapper and was excellent."

"I’ll start off by saying I love to cook and I’m good at it so I’m pretty fussy when it comes to food. Black Bull provides very good food and excellent service. Our waiter Leo was polite and attentive as was all of the staff that we interacted with. We had the stuffed mushroom app (a little bland), Panzanella Salad (excellent), tomahawk steak for two (very good), brussels sprouts (excellent), truffle mashed potatoes (good) and Italian hot peppers (very spicy but I like spicy). Their homemade steak sauce is delicious they should bottle it and sell it. We had the apple strudel for desert (very good) but wished for a bit more gelato. For two we spent just shy of $400 (I think that was including a $75 tip). We also have enough leftovers for another meal. All in all a nice place and we’ll definitely go back. BTW there is a speakeasy downstairs, I was surprised to learn you could smoke cigars down there because you couldn’t smell them at all in the dining area."

"I made a reservation for our anniversary, they called to confirm! The staff was so accommodating from the moment we walked in. The sides were delectable (mushroom risotto was so yummy! and the salad bar was fresh and stocked. They took pride in the beauty of the experience right down to the salt and pepper grinders on each table. I was so amazed at the quality of the food. Each and every piece of red meat I tasted was decadent and mouth watering. The sea food was flavored to perfection. The passadors were so helpful and happy! We had a wonderful time!!"

"This was our second visit and truthfully, it wasn't quite as good as the first! It was still really good though. I deliberately ordered the exact same choices as before, because I enjoyed them so much the 1st time around! Also because I have often felt that restaurants don't always live up to first impressions, so this was a bit of a test! I was hopeful that this one would and for the most part it did, with just a few little disappointments. I am still a fan though and will definitely go back!"

"I went to a baby shower there. I dont know about these Yelp events? The restaurant is divided into three sections. The first is the bar, The there is bar seating and then there is a bigger room. For this event the bigger room was over crowded so we sat in the bar seating which was in my opinion so much more comfortable because of the booth like seating. The wait staff was personable and the food which was sleected by the hosts of the event was actually very good."

"The short rib egg roll app was excellent and the service was phenomenal. I had the chicken Marsala that was supposed to come with prosciutto, it arrived riddled with barley cooked Canadian bacon. The chicken was tough and the whole dish was served swimming in Marsala sauce. The aesthetic of the restaurant was excellent but I am sad to say I was very disappointed with my course."

"Second visit- enjoyed it again. Service is very good, food is amazing and the portions are a great value. Legit Italian food. It’s a noisy place due to the high ceilings and hard wood. Super cool. Super good. Highly recommend."

"Abnormal dining experience, but interesting social experiment to endure.BLUF: I chose to go here, so it is ultimately my fault. They should consider closing and giving the space to a better restaurant with different management because the space is SO NICE though.1) Four different staff interacted with us. One took our water order, then disappeared for the entire meal. Second individual, was our primary waiter who said less than nine words to us. Third man, water person, performed better than everyone else. The Fourth woman brought the bread and appeared to move with more urgency than everyone else.2) Potential bias towards different customers. Some customers receive far better service than others. There are two levels to the seating arrangement. Level two appears to have their preferred patrons, who are serviced in a more thorough manner. On the lower level, older people received better or faster service. Level two consisted of old, white men.3) Our primary server: avoid at all costs. Couldn’t make any recommendations, nor provide any insight to the menu. It may be better if the wait service is replaced by AI. It appeared we were a nuisance to our waiter.4) Owner or pseudo manager interactions: An individual who appeared to be tangentially involved in the management kept walking up to customers and making a lot of physical contact with them. He appeared to be on drugs and would repeatedly walk in and out of the restaurant, to what I assess was to consume more drugs. He’d stumble back in and look increasingly disheveled as the night continued.5) Food: cold. Despite what people think, it’s not actually difficult to serve hot food. It’s not rocket science.6) Prosciutto cutting machine: it’s a trap and a gimmick. No serious dining establishment does that. Also, guests sit directly next to the prosciutto as it lies out in the open.7) Dessert menu: the staff offers it to you like you’ve graduated to the PhD level of dining after you’ve endured their horrible service. They should take context clues and assume no one on the bottom level wants to eat dessert.8) Time: the entire meal took 2.5 hours. It took 2.5 hours to receive one appetizer and two entrees. It took 25 minutes to receive the check alone. That’s a paper product, just print it.9) Price: paid $200 for two. Simply absurd for the quality. I could have bought two weeks of groceries and cooked four dinner entrees myself, but better with zero formal training."

"One of the best Italian restaurants I have ever eaten at. My and my wife visited this place one day after a hike. The quality of food and service were so good we decided to have them serve us for our wedding dinner. It also did not disappoint. Everything from the pasta to their selection of pizza was just unreal. This is fine dining however so expect that type of experience. "I’ve been to this restaurant many times. Last night was disappointing. Watch your bill because I ordered house wine and they up charged me for a more expensive wine. Also an up Charge on veggies that I didn’t notice on the menu. I would’ve said something but I had already complained about my steak that was served extremely well done. They brought me out a whole new dinner which was very nice but at that point everyone else was done eating and I was full from what I could salvage on my plate. The scarpariello wings never disappoint but overall not the best experience. Also I was not able to book on open table, I had to call ahead to get seating. The bar food here is decent, meals overall have been hit or miss. Pasta dishes are safe options."
