"Had dinner here with my husband and our teen sons our last night in Alaska. Two of us had salmon, two had steaks and one had gnocchi and added salmon to the meal. We also each had dessert. The food was good, not great, but good. Our waiter was also good. My issue came when our bill was delivered to the table and the waiter explained that we would see a 20% gratuity added in. I had noticed on the menu that a 20% gratuity was automatically added for tables of 6 or more, so, I asked if that was a mistake since there were five of us, at which point he said it was not an error but we could talk with the manager if we had questions. As we exited, my husband and I stopped at the hostess area and spoke with the asst manager who said the 20% gratuity for six should not have been printed in the menu, rather it was UP TO THEIR DISCRETION whose bill it was automatically added to. Wait…….What?!?! So, are you saying that if I’m over 40 you add the gratuity? If I have children? If this is my first time to Alaska? We asked what that even meant, but she could not explain and said she would speak with their mgr as she agreed there should be some clearer guidelines. Do you really think so????? Bottom line, this just felt slimy, and, no matter what the food was like, it left a really bad taste in our mouths of Resurrection Roadhouse."
