"Great setting, and good service, but the food was not what I expected from such an establishment! It is NOT authentic Italian (though the chef, who is certainly not Italian, tried to get creative with the menu, it did not work). We travel to Italy regularly; I am a professor of Italian and I was very disappointed with the food. We ended up paying $200 for lunch for 2 adults and a child (which would have been ok if the food had been good). Even the $15 Bellini was mediocre and did not taste as it should have! Disappointing... and overpriced for the quality..."

"This was my first time dining at the New Yorker and I will say I was not very impressed. For a restaurant that is known for their filets and sirloins I was very disappointed. First off after receiving our soups and salads we waited almost an hour before our meals came out. The kitchen was backed up because of a new wine pairing menu they were offering for the first time that night. When my filet finally did arrive the bottom was charred and inedible and the filet was cooked to a medium instead of a medium-rare which I had ordered. I would have sent it back to be redone, but I did not want to hold up the rest of my party so I could wait another 45 minutes to get another filet. Definitely not worth the $50+ that I was charged for the filet. Definitely glad that this dinner was paid for using a gift card because I would have never paid for that quality of food without it. But I decided to give 2 stars because the waitress was very nice and kept apologizing for the delay. Also I usually do not mind having piano played in the background while at a restaurant, but when the pianist starts to play the Mario theme song, it definitely ruined the atmosphere that was there."
