"I have been a frequent customer of Kumo for the past 12 years. During the Pandemic they only did carry out and delivery. This month I have visited them four times. Here are my observations: Service: AWESOME!!! They have really gone from outstanding to AWESOME! Food: OUTSTANDING! I don't work close to Kumo anymore, so I tried multiple sushi places and they all suck. Kumo has the best Sushi in Northern Virginia. I have become an addict to the their lunch menu. Check it out on their site, better yet, go there for lunch. You can get 3 high quality Sushi Rolls, a Miso soup or a Salad for $18.00. Ambiance: Nice super clean environment. Great place for Lunch or to take a date in the evening. I strongly recommend this great hidden gem."

"I love coming here for takeout. The service is always fantastic and the restaurant is simple and clean.The sushi is always amazing. The last time I went, I strayed away from the sushi and got chicken Singapore noodles. They were super flavorful and filling. Portion size was great as well. They were a little on the dry side for me, but I would recommend this place all day long.Parking: Little parking on street. DO NOT use the 711 lot."

"The absolute best of all! We love their hibachi- it comes as fresh about the delivery as it would be if you sit in the restaurant and order. Flawless. My husband gets her special roles (mango roll, treasure roll, awesome tuna roll) and said they were wonderful. I have yellow tail, tuna and salmon sushi (fresh fish over rice). All three were delicious, but the salmon was for... I just wish I had more. We have ordered many times from them and they never fail to deliver delicious food! I highly recommend them. We also love the owners. He offered me to see the pad, although it is not on their menu. Note another thing - use their delivery service directly on their website. They pay MUCH less than Grubhub etc... Sometimes the owner delivers it himself – so admirable!"

"I ordered furniture from them on Etsy; spent a couple grand. Big mistake. No communication from them; no response to messages about when they would ship. Then, Jim messages, 'We will let you know... we are expecting a shipment next week '. This made no sense. Did they not have the stuff they sold me? More silence in response to my questions. Then they said that they were painting the furniture. Suspicious, that they actually didn 't have the furniture, I asked for a photo. No response. Last Monday, they messaged, 'We will send you photos by Friday. ' Friday and Saturday passed, no photo. When I pressed for a ship date, Jim responded, 'Next week.... ' which, I pointed out, is not a date. No response. Ultimately, I contacted my credit card fraud department. They said they refunded me today. I 'm hopeful but skeptical. No credit has yet appeared im my account. These people are sketchy. Their 'store ' is sketchy. Run away"

"EXCELLENT FOOD SERVICE. Arrived at ~7:15pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of seats (which is a shame), they should be more popular. since one person in our group was stuck in traffic, the staff kindly took our order and arranged to bring it out when our friend finally did arrive. Food was literally sizzling hot and steaming when it did come out. Everything tasted divine. Water was always being topped off. My friends and I met to catch up after 5 years of not seeing each other and the staff let us stay later even a little past closing time. They also helped us take a group photo and had their newly arrived party (of people they knew I believe, not new guests) move out of the photo's background. Definitely check this place out!"

"KUMO GOT ME THROUGH BAR EXAM PREP! I had kumo multiple times a week while at home studying for the bar exam for two months straight and every time I was so happy because the food is delicious. I even decided that lunch special chicken terriakyi was what I’d have for the first day of the Bar Exam, so my dad picked it up and brought it to the hotel I was taking it in in Uniondale during my lunch break. I cannot recommend this place enough!!! Their lunch special are reasonable priced and they give a great amount! I’ve also been eating here since I went to VSN north and will keep continuing to do so! "Was pretty late on a Saturday night. We were the only ones in the restaurant. I love the decor. Menu was huge, especially the sushi section, but they also had many Chinese and Thai options. I got kicked tofu and the Tokyo roll (tuna, yellow dick and avocado), friend got crabs-rangoon and pad Thai, we both found everything delicious. Service was very fast and attentive, although that might have been because we were the only ones there. They also had a lot of varieties."

"THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE EVER! I went there because my six year old wanted to go for sushi and we had been before. It's always been mediocre and I gave in and went. I made the mistake of getting the all you can eat for $33.95. I ordered a roll, some sushi and a handroll. They sat us right near the sushi bar and the person helping to make the sushi would not stop glaring at me my entire meal! Always checking out what I was eating was I sharing? It was so unenjoyable. I could not just enjoy eating and being with my family for my daughter's birthday. The sushi was terrible. All rice and barely anything in the middle of the rolls or on top of the sushi. It had no flavor at all. Then to top it off, the server came over to me and warned me that I must finish all my rice on my plate or I would be charged. At that point, I let her know just how awful the food was and on top of that, I could not enjoy even sitting there with them eyeing me and surrounding me, monitoring every bite and my every move with their precious all you can eat rice. Please save your money. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants on 72nd street that are quality and great service/pleasant dining experience."
