Great naan, excellent vindaloo, and tasty dalai tonight and a fried vegetable sampler to start that was tasty and included paneer cheese, too. The cooks accommodated a nut allergy by putting together a tikka masala sauce for a parry member. Taj Mahal lager paired well will with the spicier dishes. Definitely a do over one to add to the list of frequent visit spots."

"I like this place, but I must come back to rethink again because both times I have gedified at this place, the restaurant is absolutely empty working with only one guy and both times I was told that many of the menu points are not possible for them to make them, they have all the ingredients, but they refused to make most of the items so that I choose from a smaller menu. "The combination of food in this restaurant was so weird and probably the worst. they served us chicken pakora with mango puree, who even eats chicken with mango puree? we would have understood if it was the traditional mango pickle but it was literally mango puree. And about the biryani, it was the worst biryani i have ever had. the biryani was soggy, and it looked like as if they mixed some gravy with steamed rice and served us and there was no sign of caramelised onion.My 14 years old niece can cook better biryani than i ate in this restaurant."

"Horrible Horrible worst service. We just went there last Sunday for Mother’s day lunch and it was a horrible service. In spite of making a reservation a week in advance we had to wait for almost 2 hours to get the table. And no one seem to be bothered, almost had to clean our own table and join the tables ourselves. Water was not served on time, food was served cold. Really irresponsible owner and staff. Very very bad please do not ever go to this place."

I ordered delivery, and when it got here there wasn't any rice with it... so I called and they said you have to order it separately. "I was in this restaurant several times, but, always for get to click food pictures and check them. the best place to dinate with family or friends. one of the best places for Mediterranean cuisine. the ambiente is good. the best is that they get unlimited chai when they order one and its so good. ordered appetizer mazza, main course naan, roti with shimla wiper, paneer karahi gosht and dal fry. mazza was so delicious and was so nutritious. it had falafel-hummus-salad taste. naan and roti quantity is much too much so when they go in a group, they can share it. Shimla distributor was pretty sweet in taste and I didn't have fun as I like a little spicy in my food and I totally forget to mention when I placed my order. paneel karahi gosht was medium spicy and dal fry was thick in consistency and asked her to make it spicy. the gravur comes with pure Basmati rice. finally mango leti and chai."

"Lotus is one of my top 3 San Rafael restaurants and everyone's favorite. One of the best restaurants in Marin County. Please note the free PARKING LOT (at 805 5th Ave) at the rear entrance through the Indian grocery store. We have dined here to the lunch buffet (all you can eat) and the selection was excellent. Chicken Tikka Masala, Aloo Gobi, 3 types of Pakoras, 2 types of curry dishes, Tandoori Chicken and even fresh Papadum offered. Many dishes were gluten-free. The lunch buffet ends at 2 o'clock. We came too late at 1:10, but we had a lot of food to try, and the host even brought us a basket of freshly baked naan for our table to the end. The amount of selection and selection we had for the lunch buffet I felt it was so much. I am always so impressed by the level of all employees? Attention whenever we're here. There were 3-4 waiters always checking tables to fill the water glasses (as we can drink more water, enjoy the seasoned food) and clean all finished dishes immediately. 20 car parking is on the back and I think Lotus is the one and only restaurant in San Rafael Downtown with own parking. A few months ago we sat on the new curb-side dining area. And it was quite convenient to be served there from the 4th street without feeling on anyone. Large terrace umbrellas also kept us cool. The owner, Pal, was a miracle for the guests whenever he is there and always remember the familiar faces and stop saying hello to any table."

"quality of food- 5 stars quality of service- 2 star original reserved one table for 16 males per phone. when our party arrived, we got two separate tables for our guests who were not close and saw us as a brain in lights. this was not notified by the herrn on the phone the day before. they have finally put together tables, while all the other mozens in the restaurant enjoyed the show.1 the communication on the phone must be detailed and much improved to avoid this from other guests in the future. 2 the quality of the service could have been improved, as many foods were not supplied, unless our food products originally ordered were expressly asked. the personal seemed overworked and tired when the owner himself was on the floor, which helped out. lack of attention in ordering and not writing the ordering problems, as drinks and food were either missed or the wrong point was brought out.3 the amount of foods did not correspond to the cost paid. can just go somewhere else where quality and quantity is better."
