"My group had one of the worst dining experiences imaginable at Straits on December 6. We had a party of six and had made reservations nearly a week ahead of time. First of all, we had to wait for 30 minutes past our scheduled reservation for our table even though we arrived at the restaurant ahead of time! When we were finally seated, there weren’t enough menus, then the server couldn’t find a wine list and the water did not have any ice in it! We ordered eight (8) appetizers of which all were OK except for the spring rolls which simply were not tasty at all. We also ordered four(4) entre plates and neither the beef nor the chicken tasted fresh. The sea bass was quite good. Finally, we ordered coffee and desserts. The coffee arrived cool and then we were told that none of the three desserts we ordered were available. They also did not have enough teaspoons for each coffee served. We cancelled the coffee and the desserts and left. I had eaten lunch at Straits several times and assumed that dinner would be competently taken care of. Wrong! There were too many things wrong with this experience to blame it on the server or the kitchen. I think Straits needs to look closely at whether or not they are actually able to be a bar/restaurant rather than just a bar."
