"Highly disappointed in the Hibernia Pub lunch my wife and I had today. Started with the Rueben rolls which were nothing more than over breaded rolls stuffed with large chunks of what impersonated corned beef and a gross overdose of cheese, they were drowning in grease when served. Then we move on the “Shepherd’s Pie”, a gravy boat of grease and cheese with some potatoes and obviously frozen vegetables scattered in. The Shepherd’s Pie was bar none inedible, the amount of grease frankly made me nauseous. I was incredibly disappointed and to be honest, a little heartbroken. My wife and I were thrilled to finally try the Irish Pub in our backyard but we will not be returning.Given the history of Hibernias historical ties to Ireland, my wife and I certainly didn’t expect a meal worthy of Kitchen Nightmares, the sheperds pie was drowned in cheese, the meat was definitely not lamb or mutton so therefore calling it traditional is an outright lie, when I asked for the check the server saw the sheperds pie had barely been touched and asked if I needed a box, when I replied I didn’t, she didn’t seem surprised.Even my wife’s salad with grilled chicken was clearly prepared with pre grilled chicken, I’d love to see this place actually use fresh ingredients and ACTUALLY make traditional sheperds pie, until then I highly recommend not dining here.My wife and I aren’t snobs, and very seldom do I leave google reviews, but to see somewhere smack in the middle of fleming island serving such sub par meals is disappointing, I hope they hire someone with experience in preparing “traditional” anything."
