"My family and I visited Whytheville, Virginia Sunday the 31st of August 2014. Upon entering the restaurant,, it was dank and dirty, but because it was recommended by the Manager of the Hampton Inn, we decided to stay and give it a try, plus the hour was late, and we were tired from driving from Charleston, SC. We ordered drinks, and the glasses that the drinks were served in were inappropriate. The drinks were terrible, the person mixing the drinks was also the person making the sushi, no bar tending exprience. They only had 2 martini glasses and as soon as they were emptied they were confiscated. I ordered a Cosmopolitan which was served in a juice glass, not the right ingredients and too much Vodka. the water glasses were of so many different sizes. Now getting to the food, we all ordered Hibachi grill, the cook was very inexperienced, he kept dropping his utensils. Three of the people in our party ordered salmon, it was spoiled, the ones that ordered chicken it was overcooked, and the veggies that accompained the stir fry were old tasting. I have eaten at several Japanese Hibachi grill restaurants and this one was the worse. I would not recommend this restaurant to any one. The server was non-caring of his customers (us) and thought that our complaints were a joke as I asked to speak to the Manager. In my opinion this restaurant should be inspected by the Virginia Health Department and either brought up to health regulations and standard restaurant requirements or shut down. The staff could barely speak Engish and were unable to communicate effectively with the customers. I don't know what the people in Wytheville are use to, but that place was really not for human consumption."

"The restaurant was clan and neat. I was seated within 3 mins of arriving, followed by my waiter taking my drink request. When the waiter came back with my water, I told him my order (Unagi Don with spinach, which came with miso soup).Ten minutes later, a server placed my food in front of me with a small greeting and was GONE. The problem was that I never received my soup. The server who 'd brought my food had his back to me, so short of yelling I couldn 't get his attention. Fortunately, another server saynme looking around and came over. When I said that I didn 't get soup , he asked, Oh? You want miso soup? He apologized, about three mins later my waiter brought a bowl, and apologized. Maybe most guests don 't want the soup. The food was hot but the spinach had no seasoning, just cooked leaves. No one checked on me after my food was delivered. When I was ready to go, the same server who 'd fixed my soup issue got my check for me. I saw my waiter and the server cleaning a table together. I paid and tipped in cash, so I waited until one of them walked by so I could give them my bill. We said 'good night ' and I got up to leave. As I was leaving, there was a lady sitting at the hostess counter. I said, Good night, but she just gawked at me. She really just STARED. It was a bit weird, so I said Good night again. That time she spoke. This is a Sunday night. Maybe they 're short staffed and frazzled. It 's not a bad place, just an odd first encounter."
