"We went here for our sons birthday and noted that on our reservation and upon check in. While the restaurant was quite busy (they had a table of 20 to attend to) wait staff was very limited. Our server, Alvin, was very friendly. But it seemed he was the only one able to help with refills, getting checks, etc which made for a very long wait. The food was OK at best. We had sushi, Chinese, Hibachi and the Korean BBQ and none of it knocked our socks off. A couple of mentionables: the Korean BBQ was interesting in that you cook yourself at the table; different and fun. Second: the restrooms have a very foul odor (not from use but something else) which either management and/or patrons try to masque with Febreeze and does not work. I don’t think we will be returning and cannot recommend to others. Sorry."

"We came to dinner at 6:00, ordered within 5 minutes and got our first dish until almost an hour later, the rest of the plate also came very slowly. Waiting is much too long for adults, we have two children under 4 with us. The food was good. Miso cod has no bad taste, it's quite dipped in Teriyaki sauce. Yellowtail kama is fresh, but has no spice on it. Even though the name izakaya has in it, they do not have many spits. The chicken yakitori uses chicken breast so it is quite dry, although it is also soaked in Teriyaki sauce."

"Last week, my husband and I dined at this restaurant. The passion wontons were a standout dish, with cream cheese wontons served on a bed of avocado and seaweed salad. The maki rolls were also enjoyable. However, when I ordered flying fish roe sashimi, I received sushi instead. Despite this mix-up, overall it was a good dining experience."

"Soul Gastrolounge, quite possibly might just be my favorite restaurant in Charlotte so far. Exquisite food and ambiance make this venue the place to be on any given night. The food was filling and delicious, full-bodied and flavorful. I'll truly make it a point of venture to return here again on my next visit. The music brought a whole vibe and kept in the energy in the room moving. The drinks were creative and strongly full-filling with a wonderful mix of flavors. Our food came out plated wonderfully and tasted even better then they looked. Make a point to visit this spot, you won't regret it."

"Craved sushi, got what I wanted! There was a 15-20 min wait which isn't too bad for a Sunday night, and we got the food within 10 minutes. We got the chirashi donburi, chicken katsu, chicken karaage, and california roll. Karaage tasted fine but there weren't a lot of pieces considering the price (about 6 medium sized pieces for 9.5 dollars... but everything else was pretty worth. The sashimi tasted quite good and the chicken katsu was a large portion. You also get miso soup with the main meal (and rice for some dishes like the katsu so you definitely will feel full!! "Being fortunate enough to spend the winters in South Beach, we are very spoiled by an almost unlimited supply of excellent restaurants. Living in the Bay Road area we forget that one of the best is only a few minute' walk from our home. Since Covid, NaiYaRa has expanded their dining outside onto the sidewalk and covered plaza where the energy level of the inside is much less for those of us who like quiet dining- a thing hard to find in Miami! The food is superb and the prices are reasonable considering the quality and preparation. Ask about specials and be sure to have the lobster roll Also ask to have Mark as your waiter if he's on duty, as he's most knowledgeable and personable. Service is virtually impeccable. Portions are perfect but I advise sharing if possible. Unlike a lot of restaurants, diners are not required to order all-at-once so you are able to develop your menu as the meal progresses. I promise you won't disappointed!"
