"Listed as one of The 10 BEST Late Night Restaurants, Sushi Song was at the top of the list! The list surpassed 10, but that was not the point. If you saw the list, you would probably check out Sushi Song, if you were a sushi fan. Based on YELP reviews, plus having an unexpected early night off from work, we headed to our favorite area in Fort Lauderdale, which was Himmarshee Street. It was Friday night, and at midnight, there was a fraction of the denizens. Came to find out there was a game that night. That meant the time between order and pickup should be shortened. Sushi Song truly was a hole-in-the-wall. The outside does not prepare you for the small space inside. But the space works! You can sit at the bar, plus there were a group of tables as soon as you enter, and more across from the bar. This is a good example of less being more. After all, this is a sushi restaurant, not a Japanese steakhouse or swanky Japanese restaurant on South Beach. You know we have to talk about service. Service was excellent! Our server greeted us with a smile upon entry! We placed our order, but one dish was an item only the Oakland Park Blvd location made, which was Salmon Belly. No problem, we selected something else that piqued our interest. Regarding the food, the best YELP reviews were correct. The freshness was undeniable! The quality of the salad demonstrated the restaurant does not settle.Sushi Song sets itself apart from all the other restaurants on Himmarshee Street as the only Asian restaurant there. #00 SHATO aka #SHATO fka 00# Saloon tried it's hand at it, hired an IRON CHEF, and still failed. It seems Sushi Song has staying power, and will be around for some time. So stop by and give them a try!"
