"we had some friends visiting from the state, and out go-to Italian place is closed for the slurry season, so we decided to try giampietro based on the same level as our favorite stretch italian restaurant. unfortunately, eating did not live until the evaluation. a lot of people had pizza, so maybe that's good, but the pasta dishes we had were a big disappointment. it began with the filled bowls my wife ordered. they were not the huge filled dishes they would expect. they were tiny. not velveeta shells n cheese tiny, but close. the filling and the sauce were uninspiring, and it lacked taste. I had cheese manicotti, but with alfredo instead of tomato sauce, and added meatballs. the Alfredo sauce also lacked taste, and the manicotti noodles felt as if they had been made a long time ago. the meatballs were simply eggs of ground beef. no real spice or taste. our guests had the baked ziti with meatballs (same problems) and the chicken marsala. the marsala tasted more like a sweet water than a marsala wine sauce, and the whole plate, like everything else, was very difficult in taste. Moreover, the staff seemed more interested in the NBA game on television than on the work in the restaurant, but I think that is the norm owner expecting us to accept these days. all in all, giampietro was an extremely disappointing experience. I hope the pizza is good, but we will never be there again. if michaels (our favourite place) is not open, we will get for another type of food. giampietro is not worth taking the chance on itself. for a meal that ordered at almost $150 without alcohol, I have now buyer remorse."

"On Saturday night, the restaurant was very quiet. We were seated at 7:30 and no one else came in after us. I ordered the Sunday Ragu, and while the sauce was delicious, the sausage was just okay. The meatball was dry and overcooked, and instead of beef braciole, I received a stuffed chicken roll that I did not like. One of my friends ordered shrimp parm and enjoyed it, while another friend had the sausage scarpiello and thought it was only okay. Someone else ordered the veal and found it to be tough and dry, leaving most of the meal uneaten. However, dessert was very good. This was surprising because we had a great lunch there about a month ago. Perhaps it was just an off night."

"Food and summer drink list were fantastic. Lots of outdoor seating options. Our server was spread thin having to take care of a lot of tables but he still provided excellent service. Only drawback for me is the front row of parking is right up against the front outdoor tables (separated by a small fence, but not a great view. Just choose not to sit at one of those tables and you are golden!"

"I visited the Bertuccis here in Springfield, Va the other day. I was initially hesitant because of a pretty bad experience years ago in another place from the state. I thought I would give him another try and what a difference! The restaurant was not only very clean, the staff was so polite and welcoming. It was night and day of my last experience years ago. The food was excellent. After leaving, I asked to talk to the manager to him or her, what a wonderful experience my wife and I had in this place. I met Bill Ross the GM. What a wonderful guy! I rarely publish reviews unless I have absolute phenomenal service or absolute terrible service and that was one of the best experiences I had in a chain restaurant in years. Big job Bill! Management is what makes a good restaurant an excellent one. I wish I could steal Bill from Bertucci and take him to my West Coast restaurants! Keep the big work Bill Ross and I will definitely be back to see you every time I'm in town."
