"Mateus is another very solid Portuguese restaurant in Ludlow which doubles as a sports bar during the European soccer season otherwise its baseball, basketball and or football. There is a separate dining area on the opposite of the bar area for a more comfortable quieter dining experience, if that is your wish. Soups, stews, pork, chicken, beef and seafood entrees are always very good, the service is attentive, the price point is low and the portion size is quite large. I have always been very pleased with everything I have ordered at Mateus and it will continue to be one of my regular lunch hour stops."
