"I frequently visit Carbone's and normally would not grade this low. The reason for my grade is that the service was okay but not great. My primary complaint is that I asked the server what kind of bourbon they had. She rattled off a few but couldn’t remember the rest. One of the choices was Widow Jane, a bourbon I've had in the past. Rather than press her and ask her to go to the bar, I ordered the Widow Jane. Now I know this is a little slightly higher priced per bottle than some of the others but ordered it anyway. When I got the bill, I was charged each for two of them on the rocks. I was shocked. This is Bloomfield, CT not Chicago or NY. There is no way I would spend for one bourbon anywhere if I knew that's what I was being charged. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I paid the bill without comment. My problem is not that the server didn't know all the bourbons they carry. My problem is that if you're going to charge for a single drink, you should definitely have a list that includes pricing. I mean, I think they should have a list anyway; but especially if there's this kind of premium price for individual brands. Not surprise your guests when they get the bill. I found this very disappointing for what I consider to be a neighborhood gem of a restaurant"
