"Ordered a slice of apple pie and carrot cake. Ladies and gents do yourselves a favor and not order desserts from this diner. Both slices taste like cardboard as if they were sitting in the display for months at a time. I will never order desserts from this place again. HORRIBLE!!!"

"I ordered a chicken plate with rice and plantains and a press Cuban. They had me pay for it before the Cuban was made. Then gave me Cuban toast said they didn't have the stuff to make a Cuban sandwich and just stared at me when I asked how they were going to fix it. I told them again it's not what I ordered I ordered a Cuban sandwich again they just stared at me. By the way the chicken is very dry the yellow rice has no flavor the plantains are very good. Good luck everyone if you don't speak Spanish."

"I was unable to place an order at this restaurant. While searching for new lunch delivery options in my area, I came across this place. I tried to access their menu online, but it was not working. I called the restaurant to inquire about how I could view the menu, and the staff member immediately questioned how I obtained their phone number. When I explained that I found it through a Google search, he suggested that I Google their address to come pick up a menu. I was so put off by this response that I decided to hang up. Any business that treats potential customers in such a dismissive manner does not deserve to succeed. Goodbye to that kind of attitude – it's a deal breaker for me."

"A must stop on your way off of the Newport Pell Bridge for this authentic British Cafe experience. On a cold, rainy December day, my husband and I popped in for a special treat and we thought we had died and gone to Heaven. This family run cafe is charming and brought us back to our honeymoon spent in England. They were closing up shop, but kept the oven going to make me a Cornish pasty and my husband the most delicious vegetarian pie. Their kindness and warmth was appreciated on such a raw day. So was their delicious food!!!! Their variety of snacks and treats was impressive and introduced us to some treats we didn’t spot on our honeymoon. The food made our knees buckle. Flavors and a cooking style that we have longed for since we were in the UK and couldn’t find in New England. We had a lovely time visiting with them while our pies cooked and we are already planning our next trip!!! This is not a place to miss! We’re so grateful the owners picked Newport to open their shop!!!"

"I've been going to this restaurant for the past 13 years, and I've always found the staff to be respectful and prompt, especially on days when I couldn't leave the house. It’s now under new management, and they have some amazing freshly made pastelillos. They also offer hot lunches with rice, beans, and meat. "I ordered a shawarma sandwich, and it came in a gyro style. Nothing about this meat was shawarma, it was pressed and cooked on a grill, flavorless burger meat in thin stripes, clearly dried out. The fixing where burger cut and just sitting there. The fries were soggy and had zero salt. The tzatziki sauce was cucumber chunks stirred in, not even blended This place survives because local employees don't want to drive."
