"Dined here before opening night of philharmonic. We advised of our time constraints when we checked in, yet the two women running front of house moved at snail’s pace, and the two did not work together fluidly to mange the tables. My husband firstly ordered the minestrone which we found bland with a vegetable stock reminiscent of boxed stock. He followed with the Mellanzane eggplant dish which reminded him of a reconstructed eggplant parmesan and ok in flavor. I had the chicken marsala which was adequate, but pasta was cold and the chicken was lukewarm at best. We have had better dishes at big box Italian restaurants. Also, a restaurant wanting to appear authentic would have been better served playing Italian music, jazz, or standards; but the top 40 playing did not lend to good atmosphere. Mains were delivered 15 mins before we needed to leave to reach the concert venue, so we had to rush to complete, asking for our bill when food arrived so we could get out the door. Perhaps an earlier reservation would have been prudent, but we have not such a time issue when dining elsewhere before concerts. This is a small venue with fewer than ten tables, not a big restaurant struggling to retain good servers; we expected better. Not a good dining experience all around and likely we will not return."
