"While the menu has been backsclated, the favorites are still there. We celebrated an event and the food and friendly service were excellent. We started with the Giant Pretzel Combo, which was excellent and huge. Our entrees were the Bavarian hunter's carving and the brewery Cobb Salad. All outstanding and generous proportions. It becomes loud and sometimes silent when the live music plays, so choose the outdoor area or ancillary space if you prefer a quieter experience. Excellent culinary experience when you enjoy traditional German dishes."

"food quality is hardly German/Bavarian. and if there is no German senf on the table, only American yellower senf, they know that the dinge far from authentic service were very good. political, friendly and timely. kudos to our server. but the stunner was the Ukrainian ultra-right black and red fahne, which represents the right sector organization that hangs behind the small stage on the wall. "We started with the Shrimp tempura appetizer, which had a light and slightly crispy batter coating the large shrimp. This was followed by the crispy and flavorful pork belly. We also enjoyed the beet salad and the coconut chicken soup. The Salmon with Udon was a standout dish for us. My husband, a seafood lover, was impressed with the deliciously crispy skin of the salmon, which was seasoned just right and had a juicy and tender interior. It was a refreshing change from the typical stretchy salmon skin served at many restaurants, and the natural flavors really shone through. And finally, the tenderloin beef was the highlight of our meal. The tenderness of the meat and the incredible flavor made it the best dish we had experienced throughout the entire 10 Dine event. This dish is a must-try for any meat lover. My husband was in awe and I was pleasantly surprised to find such a high level of taste and quality in an Asian restaurant."

"I felt like I was in the Swiss Alps with Disney-esque theming that was almost a bit over the top. You get a nice whiff of cheese as you walk into the restaurant. It felt cozy, comforting, and warm. Our waitress was very nice, patient, and timely. Weinberg Schnecken: Probably the best tasting dish, they were warm and flavorful with herbs and butter. Zwiebelsuppe: The onion soup tasted like you'd expect, very typical. Raclette Fondue: Maybe it's just me, but was very mid. Been to another fondue place and had similar thoughts, so maybe I'm not a big fondue guy. The veggies to dip were the best dipping side, but there was very little given. A ton of bread came on the side. Side Sausages: Very very small portion, which just tasted like a hot dog. Overall, the food was mid, but a fondue experience might be worthwhile."

"When I worked right on Lake Emma, I'd go here for lunch with work associates often. It's always delicious. I brought my wife one time and we both enjoyed it immensely. I kept forgetting to go back until last night. They have a Pollo Milano dish, which is really a Columbian style chicken cutlet, that is probably the best chicken cutlet ever. I'd been thinking about since my last visit. Last night I realized they make a pork cutlet the same way. The Milano del Cerdo is the best pork cutlet I've ever had. It's far superior to wiener schnitzel, but that's the closet comparison. The rice and beans have small cubed potatoes in the beans. Delicious and hardy. The tostones are always perfect. We also had the beef empanadas and they were excellent. The dough is crispy, but a little thicker than I'd expected with almost a pastry quality. The beef filling had those diced potatoes again making the spice mixture not only delicious but satisfying. My wife had the Ropa Vieja which is beef dish, with wonderfully tender and flavorful beef that shreds as you touch it. Cannot wait to go back. Also, my wife had that mango margarita which was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, with real mango juice."

"Great place for Schnitzel! I've been on extended business a few times and came across another German cuisine location and stumbled across this restaurant later. Both serve traditional German dishes. I visited both twice during my trips to Alexandria, VA.For Schnitzel, Old House Cosmopolitan is my preference. Dinner was served hot, great portion size and tasty fried potatoes. Schnitzel breading was perfect and thickness of Schnitzel was my preference. I still would prefer a vegetable on the plate as well. I also ordered the house salad with vinaigrette and it does remind me of home. Dinner is served quickly so I was not able to finish it before main dish (both visits).Service was exceptional. Very customer oriented and very friendly. The dining room is small with about 9 tables for four and a small bar off to the side. Service and decor is upscale. I was very comfortable here and enjoyed my meal. I wish I had room and time to try the deserts."
