"Upscale Steaks. If you're committed to wearing your grubby tee shirt and ballcap wherever you go, it's probably best to stick with the buffets. But for a more grown-up experience, this very fine steak house delivers. Prices are in line with a typical American steak house and the tab can escalate quickly given that everything, literally EVERYTHING, is a la carte. Many diners take a huge chunk off their bill by paying with their resort points some slot machines pay out 12:1 on points, so keep an eye out for those). <br/ <br/ Service was cool and professional, not especially warm, but there were no missteps at any of the dinners I attended. While the grass-fed filet that I had was perfectly good $46 for an 8 oz filet, plus $6 for a gorgonzola crust) and the side dishes were traditional and executed perfectly, the real standout, the things I'd return for right now if I could, were the appetizers. You could, and perhaps should, just make a meal out of these dramatic, creative, insanely fresh, and delicious starters. The oysters I had were sourced from beds off Long Island, and presented with tiny scoops of gin sorbet. My dozen disappeared far too quickly. High points also go to the bar, which does indeed craft some of the best martinis and classic cocktails that I've ever tasted. Which was a nice break from the sugary concoctions offered at the other resort bars. <br/ <br/ Acoustics in the modern dining room are muted but not stifling, permitting easy conversation wherever you are seated. Even the bar area has a relaxed and comfortable vibe."

"For the first time in our 28 years of marriage, my wife and I returned to a restaurant as our experience in 2023 at Hanks had been outstanding (see prior review). This year however we had almost the exact opposite experience. We knew going on a Saturday night would be loud, but we were not prepared for the level it was. We were seated in the dining room in the booth closest to the bar and their live entertainment. We were sitting about 5 inches apart and we still had to lean over and speak directly into each others ears (yes we are seniors but our hearing loss is not huge). The steak tartare was excellent. We missed asking them to hold the red wine vinegar on the wedge salad, and only give us the bleu cheese dressing, so we did not enjoy the salad. My wife ordered the bison ribeye, I the veal chop, and we added the spicy creamed corn. All three items were perfectly cooked, however, they all had a massive amount of salt, so we could only had a few bites before we stopped eating. Carlo the general manager happened by, and ask if we were saving the food for a midnight snack? We told him about the salt level (we could see salt flakes all over the bison), and he offered us a filet (without any salt) to share and another side. We accepted and enjoyed the meat (we did add a small amount of salt), although the creamed spinach was also over salted and we only ate about half. Should we return, we will only do it when no live entertainment is happening, and ask for a booth in the back."

"I first came to this place when it opened and now I bring my daughter for the first time it was actually a big disappointment the food was overly salted the service was really under par. When we arrived the hostess sat us instantly. Jesus was our waiter and I only got his name because he had to look at the name on my check he did not come for the first 10 minutes which the day was not busy we received our bread instantly and when he did show he basically wanted to take our order. Being Vegas he didn't even answer this was our first time or did he introduce himself so I ordered an appetizer and a meal for my daughter and we ordered a strawberry daiquiri and a Shirley Temple now what was quite disappointing is we are already eating bread he didn't offer us no water nor did he pick up the other remaining playsets as we were seated in a table for four people I literally had to look for him to ask for water as bread was getting stuck in my chest. We we're seated across from where the waiters pick up their drinks from the bartender and I was so disappointed that the bartender had to ask his device strawberry daiquiri since he did not know how to make one and surely he did not know how to make one it was overly syrup very little alcohol and chunks of ice not even Blended well to make matters worse my waiter didn't get that drink it just sat there and I basically was trying to find the waiter that's waiting for his other drink that was already getting made if you could hand mine to me we watched our waiter run back and forth for another table. Our food didn't come to us till 752 pm. The worst part is we barely got to take a couple bites of our food we were really dissatisfied he never asked us how the food was we basically said we were ready to go and what was really disappointed that he didn't even notice that we barely touched our food he packaged it up and we left disappointed and hungry. What made this experience even worse was listening to the bartender and another waiter complain about other employees obviously you guys really need to improve your team building because the gossiping of one another is truly unprofessional. As a local we will not return."
