"menu was not published as online. only knew that a revised/abbreviated menu was used when we arrived. the regular online menu was limited, but the offer was even more limited. street house style eating. chicken sandwich was dry and tasteless...obvily boiled."

"The show is amazing, very entertaining; the service and organization is quite good, the only one that can be improved is the food, it can be better, it is not bad, but not what we expected. We come back and yes, I recommend it."

"This was our second time at Goose Gander and it was another great experience. The dining room has a good vibe but we like the outdoor seating on a nice summer night. Our server was friendly and helpful, which is such an important part of the experience. The Burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer was excellent. The salmon entree was also fantastic. The skin was blackened and meat cooked perfectly. We love having coffee post-meal and the French press was welcome. Our waiter made sure we didn’t feel rushed. This has become our favorite neighborhood spot in St. Helena."

"I never had a bad meal here. Ambience is beautiful. Personnel, friendly and welcoming.. everything they offer from appetizers to their wonderful desserts are always the freshest the most delicious. Yes I can be expensive, but it's worth every bite."

"I had the scallops with risotto and they were perfect! delicious, golden brown sea. the two salmon flours were “the best flavored salmon I’ve ever had” and the men about the excellent precise grilling of the 6 unzen filets rave. kudos around! on the open table app I noticed that we needed a minimum of stairs to know the layout of the restaurant. we only had a few steps that were well navigated. perfect setting for a perfect meal."

"We have eaten there a number of times on slow nights which is probably why it was much better. The online did not indicate that there was going to be a prefix menu however I am not surprised. What did surprise the cost was $75 price for items like chicken and salmon. Not even a salad included. The staff was friendly and the owner did come around and ask if everything was fine but did not make eye contact so he really did not care. I know he has operated hotels before but needs to treat everyone like they are visiting his home since most of the clients in that area are repeat. My steak was burn on the outside and rare on the inside. Usually its very good there, chef must have been off that night."

"The staff are friendly and they hustle. Good service. The food was pretty good, but a few dishes disappointed. Dessert was not a strong point: grapefruit tart was strange and under the greenish lighting it took on an unfortunate color. Eggplant was an excellent small plate, as was the tuna. The white bean hummus with golden raisins was bland. Reasonable wine selection."

"The food was fantastic! I saw the game on the TV down at the bar then moved into the top dinning room for an amazing steak. Very recommended."

"it is hard to hit such a scenic view of the oglebay park with a well-designed cocktail in the hand. our party ordered several different cocktails and rejoiced about the uniqueness and complexity of each (I personally enjoyed the mountaineer and mango ingwer mojito). the small plates are really smaller portions than most American portions that fit my family. the scallops and crab cakes were fresh with interesting sauces and the burger was firm. Not all restaurants that have a great view also have good food, but we were very satisfied with our visit in the bistro. we brought two of five, and the staff took them in terms of food and stopped to make talks."
