"My grandson and I had lunch with Captain D's and it was great! I had the salmon and my grandson had fish with shrimps. He said the shrimps were really good, and 12-year-old boys don't lie about their food! After leaving the restaurant, I realized that I had left my wallet there. I went back quickly and the manager had already put my wallet in the safe and everything was exactly as I had left. I was so grateful for her quick action and honesty! I would recommend this Captain D to everyone!"

"My family and I went through the drive thru. My wife and daughter both ordered the three piece fish dinner and both got fries and coleslaw. I ordered the big spicy fish sandwich. I really enjoyed my spicy fish sandwich which had lettuce and I think with both tarter sauce and mayo. It had two pieces of fish which were generous portions were very tasty and just the right amount of spices in the batter . But I didn't care for the fries which tasted like they were sitting around for a while with a cold fishy taste to them. My wife and daughter liked their fries so I guess they got fries fresh from the frier. They both liked their fish but didn't care for the coleslaw. "Update: had to give them an additional star as this has become one of my favorite places in the city. I love her lobster rolls absolutely. I was at the top and had the “best”. I think this $5 order is better. I like that they shred it and throw salad under them and the rolls are delicious. This with a side of green beans and a tea became a weekly trip for me. Historically, their employees were always really nice for a fast food restaurant and even take your trays and bring refills when you were with a senior who was nice. You just don't have anything I liked enough to be a regular one for so far."

"Before adding a side of Mac Cheese I asked the Cashier was it “Craft” because my son with “Autism” have difficulty with “Texture” and he doesn’t eat “Craft Mac Cheese” so it basically went WASTE!!! I was charged for $3.68 I order a small size of “Cole Slaw” for $2.99 before tax and them both sides was the same size but different price???? I’ve been trying to call the store but NO ANSWER!!!!!!"

"I’m familiar with indulgent fried foods, but over the last few years, I’ve enjoyed the fried oysters here. However, during my recent visit, I noticed they had changed the way they prepare them. The oysters were served with an excessive amount of broth and cold, hard French fries for our entire table. There was no effort made to address our concerns. Even when the manager stopped by and I explained the issue, he seemed indifferent. They've clearly lost customers, but I doubt they’ll make any effort to win them back."

"Great food great service, this place is missed. I used to drive here from Woodbridge, which is about 20-30 minute drive and well worth the drive and the wait. When will this place open or is it permanently closed. Just rip the band aid off already and let us know. I originally thought it had closed for renovations. However it has been over a year now...still looks the same as it did when they closed before the pandemic. Like someone else said, stop with the you love to hear from our fans, yes we are fans, but we also want our restaurant back. Heck do we need to start a go fund me page, put me in for 20.00"

"A lot of fast food restaurants don't have low carb options, making it difficult for anyone watching their carbs to eat out. Captain D's has some awesome options though. I ordered the blackened tilapia with 2 shrimp skewers and green beans. The total carbs came to 14. The only down side is, I asked for them to leave the rice off and the fish still came on a bed of rice. I love rice and it was a temptation I didn't need, and it was frustrating because as soon as I finished the order, I got complete silence from their end. No price. No confirmation of what I had ordered. Next time I will be sure to ask them to repeat the order back to me."

"18. November 2022 at 5 pm my sister visited this restaurant and placed her order on the drive thru and drove home. When she came home, she realized she had someone? About Eat's order. She went back to the restaurant and tried to go, but the doors were closed. She went on the drive thru and told the cashier that she was given the wrong order. The cashier told her to drag her into the window. Two cars before her. She asked the checkout why she should wait for 2 cars. The cashier said that only employees are allowed inside. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who instructed my sister to move forward, and she will bring out her order. My sister did it, and no one came to go back and went to the window where she asked for her food. The manager was rude and rushed her body to her when she gave her food and told her she had told her to go to the front. My sister is a regular customer at this point and was frustrated by this bad service. My sister was angry and didn't have to go to work in the next hour, things could have escalated. I called the store and spoke to the assistant manager and told her I wanted to make a complaint and she told me to think I was the manager. I was 5 minutes in my hand and no one came to the phone. I called back a few times and every time I was met with the voicemail. Managers and employees need training on customer service. We are both registered nurses and if we are ever physically fired to our patients or families!"

"Very slow during the lunch rush. I waited in the drive thru for 15 minutes before my order was taken. I was told at the box that they were out of Tartar at the moment but he would make a cup for me. When I got to the window. I was told they were out of tarter again. I would not have placed the order if I knew I wouldn’t be getting tarter sauce. I also had to go inside to get the hot sauce that I requested and did not receive."

"This review is based on a ride placed by order for lunch. I got to go to the map and had a car from the speaker. It was asked to hold a minute before the order with speakers. About 30 seconds later my order was taken. When the car was pulled out front, it moved into the window. Now paid. The food order came within 1 minute. Total time 3 minutes from the menu to take off with meal. The staff the Lord was waiting for me was friendly and fast. Eat the 3 pieces fish was as good as any other Captain Ds, not fat, light flaky bread, food was hot. Hushpuppies were like fish, not greasy, not hot, but warm. Green beans were warm and tasty. Like MacnCheese. All in all, I had a friendly, fast and efficient experience. The food is as good as anyone else."

"So we all know what Captain D's is like: it's greasy fish and fries for a cheap meal. Lately Captain D's has been trying to revamp their image with more baked and broiled seafood dishes, which are actually pretty good if you can elude the siren song of fried food. The only problem is that they keep changing their menu so sometimes you fall in love with an item and then they change it, but the chicks at this location are good about working with you to find a new item that is similar or customizing something for you. I really like the blackened fish and green beans when I want something light. The only drawback to this location is that there is no drive-thru like at other locations, which is a bit annoying but not end of the world."
