"I stayed at the attached Hampton hotel on business and was looking for a great dinner where I could dine alone. I was told by the desk to try this restaurant. I walked in and was astounded at how beautiful the restaurant and bar were, it was during the Christmas season. I was given a corner table by the hostess which I loved. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and was impressed by the menu (I have worked or consulted for some very high restaurants/retailers in Manhattan). I had a waitress, if I'm correct her name was Amy. She came off as very professional but in some ways sweet. She was a great waitress. She brought me my order perfectly timed from my cocktail to my wine to my appetizer to the entree and to the dessert. I knew I picked the right place when I ordered a Negroni and it was perfectly made. I had a great salad but I was most impressed by the cassoulet. I've eaten in Paris, Montreal, NYC etc. and it was probably the best cassoulet I have ever had. It was delicious! Everything else was also very good including my chocolate dessert. Unfortunately my espresso was poorly made. The flavor was there but not the technique. After my meal I felt so comfortable that I decided to stay a bit longer and asked Amy if the restaurant carried Amaro. She didn't know what they were and the bartender Peter immediately came to my table and explained what he had. To my surprise he had Amaro Lucano, a spirit from my wife's small town in Italy. Very hard to find. The bar has an awesome menu of wine, spirits and beers. He gave me the drink on the house and recommended that I try one of his drinks called a Boulevardier. It was excellent. Most importantly Peter was very professional and maybe because of my being in the food business too, he told me about the restaurant and gave me a tour. I totally felt his passion about his job which was great to see! Anyway he was a great bartender. In short, I totally loved this restaurant from its ambiance to its menu to its staff. Wish it were in NYC. Can't wait to go back!"

"Ordnete the Jalapeno pork and the boneless reserve ribs and asked both to be spicy, this is probably the only Chinese place where I left that truly honors spice and taste. The food was amazing and much better than what I expected from other reviews. The pictures don't look so great because I couldn't help eating the food before I made a picture. Will definitely order them again."

"reasons for low rating:1. to salty any dish and unnecessary vinegar.2 slow service (15 min before the first court, and 30 min before all directed), but a mandatory 15% service fee.3 even if the service fee is included, still has left an option for tips. this is not correct, let us honestly customer = and here is something very personal. we visited this restaurant a year ago, this place was superrrr good. great courts, great service, friendly staff and reasonable price. we came to this restaurant 2 times in 2 days and had great memory. once we came after the surf and were super hungry and got incredibly satisfied with the dressed here. only today we have the opportunity to visit santa cruz again, and we came directly into this restaurant. but everything has changed in a terrible way. I don't know what it did so differently, because the menu is exactly what we were given 1 year ago. I feel very sad about this change, I hope it's just because it's the 4th. juli holiday is caused by sub-size. not give a star because I still hope that they can get back the original quality. sincere"

"I have just taken out of this store, but often order party size plates, as the quality of sushi is just excellent. Fresh fish rye and bonito flakes and high quality seafood. It is a little on the expensive side (only 1 of the 8 reels runs anywhere from 18 25$, but it is worth it. I love this place. The only thing I don't like is the supposed roles. I have one who was slightly burned on the top (maybe out of a torch, and they tended to have a butane aftertaste."

"Really nice place, staff was super sweet and attentive, sushi was fabulous and I liked that the rice was minimal. The roles... I'm pretty easy to please, but really couldn't find anyone we liked and we had several. Destroyed in sauce, the fish could not taste, and the sauce was not really great to begin – and it tasted the same on every role we had ordered. Such a shame because the sushi nigiri was really delicious, so it started well. The salmon speciality was particularly good. The moderate roles we ordered were rainbows, Hawaii and truffle salmon. Sheet metal."

"I ordered the Penang curry. It is not made with coconut milk and is quite oily. It also come with peppers and eggplant. When I inquired about a possible mistake, they sounded confused and confirmed the ingredients. I would not recommend this meal if you are expecting Penang curry."

"The restaurant has excellent food, but if the main chef or manager is not present, the service can suffer. I once paid $18 for a meal in the north and when I got home, I realized they forgot to include my boneless ribs and chicken wing. They offered to deliver it to me, but I was not conveniently located near the restaurant. Despite this mishap, the food is still delicious."

"100% extraordinary sushi and 100% cordial/helpful service. I’m here for work and I’m from NC and was skeptical about getting sushi in the middle of America. After being seated most of my skepticism was deceased due to super duper friendly service. Then I ate my first piece of sushi and immediately felt all of the absolute wonderful emotions that we get while savoring a beautiful/fresh/tender piece of fatty salmon. "My FAVORITE Chinese restaurant. The ONLY Chinese restaurant I’ll order from!! They serve everything hot and fast!! The lady on the phone who takes the orders is very proficient and never makes a mistake with my order. The food tastes great and the portions are generous. I know the inside of the restaurant might need some repairs to bring it more up to code, but the food they pump out of there is always perfect. In the 10 years I’ve eaten from there…I’ve never got sick from it, I’ve always got exactly what I ordered and it’s always been hot and tasty. Other places in town give you smaller portions or serve a smaller portion then add “filler”on top(like a piece of broccoli) to make it look like you’re getting more food. But then still charge the same amount if not more."
