"Stuffed and content. Toto's Lechon. It's a venue for gorging and simple satisfaction. It's the kind of place you go when to when you throw out all inhibition and forget your daily calorie limits. It's soul food, Filipino style.<br/ <br/ Before I go onto the food, let me clarify what kind of dining experience it is. You should prepare yourself for a simple corner deli/donut shop experience. No hoighty toighty dining here! <br/ <br/ The venue:<br/ <br/ The venue is simple. There are a series of curious concoctions stewing and baking under the hot lamps in the front. You choose what you want. They give it to you in a Styrofoam covered plate, and you have the choice of eating in the front seats or the dining area. <br/ <br/ The food:<br/ <br/ In the back of the restaurant you'll find their famous saliva-inducing roasted chicken spinning on their spits. The front of the restaurant is loaded with tasty dishes, some of which may look very unfamiliar to a Filipino food newcomer. Although you may be hesitant, try it all if you can. The only dish I would recommend skipping is the peanut sauce pork. It just wasn't my cup-o-joe.<br/ <br/ The sour soup was awesome, the roasted pork was unbelievable, and each of the skewered meats were something I'll definitely return for.<br/ <br/ Some of the previous reviewers criticize that the food is unhealthy, and they're right. There's not much here by way of health food. It's the kind of food that fills you completely, warms your tummy, and makes you want to pass out in your seat. Great for hangovers!<br/ <br/ The first time I visited, the lady behind the counter was very generous in giving us samples of many of the dishes. I was honestly full by the time I bought my actual meal. <br/ <br/ Final word: <br/ <br/ The flavors are sometimes subtle, but always good. The venue and foods are simple, so dress comfortably and prepare for loosening your belt."
