"Pleasant atmosphere, and staff that wants to make sure you have a great experience. The food is expertly prepared and plated, but not always to my taste. They really know their way around a frier: the banana coconut beignets were exquisite, probably the best thing on the menu. And the Empanadillas de Lechon had the best empanada pastry I've ever tasted. I've tried several of the tacos so far. The CoChinita was superb. I've had the mahi mahi twice, even though I don't like tartar sauce. The first time I didn't like it, but the second time I really did (I'd forgotten about the first time). The carne asada was tasty but a little chewy. The snapper was great, but its salsa topping was too vinegary for my taste. The house salad was tasty and almost as big as a dinner salad. The guacamole was good but a little too thin and vinegary for me. It comes with excellent chips though. The Seven Seas seafood stew was done well, but not to my taste. The staff was very solicitous. They clearly wanted to make a good impression, since they're a new restaurant. The manager comped my guacamole just to be nice, and the waiter comped my cappuccino. Also when I asked for more chips for the guacamole, it turned out that they had to make a fresh batch. They did this with no complaints, even though it meant about 8 extra minutes of work for the kitchen staff."
