"As serious connoisseurs of Biscuits Gravy, we seek out restaurants that serve them. Cornerstone Cafe makes The Absolute Best Biscuits Gravy that my hubs and I have ever had.On top of that, in always on the lookout for great hash browns. Many places lift them off the griddle before a nice crust forms, and they're thick, so the texture is very soft like lumpy mashed potatoes. Bleh ? Not my thing.This lovely cafe presses them thin as they cook so they have a nice crispy crust, crunchy edges, and an almost creamy interior.Their hash browns are perfect.Kim, our server, was fantastic. While taking our order, the folks at the table closest to us accidentally tipped over their water and Kim was able to spring into action to quickly get the water and ice under control while preventing us from feeling interrupted or abandoned. And when our food arrived, she frequently checked on us and kept our coffee cups hot full.(The coffee was the only disappointment, but we're coffee people like our coffee really strong.)We stopped here on a drive from Portland to Astoria and loved this place so much that we're looking forward to making the hour drive from Portland to Rainer to get brunch on weekends.
