"Greeted immediately at the door and we were seated early! They have us a choice of a couple of tables and we chose the one furthest from the door (it was -2 outside! . The host brought us some water before we were greeted by our server. Soon our server came... not a long wait! She took our drink order and appetizer order. Took a little long for drinks to arrive but upon a closer look, I noticed there weren’t more than 3 servers (that I could see and no real “sections”. Our server was pulled from one end of the restaurant to the other, increasing her service time just based on steps. Not her fault. She was super sweet and as attentive as possible. Our food arrived and our apps were great: edamame and lettuce wraps. We also ordered some sake based on our server’s suggestions. Delish! Our sushi and crispy shrimp arrived along with fried rice. Unfortunately, the entrees were 50/50, but tasty enough. The TNT roll was a bit too hot to enjoy completely and the shrimp dish was a big mayonnaisey. The one thing that bothered us was how the check was presented. It is placed in some wooden block with slots in it meant to fit your credit card. Not very secure. Anyone could see our credit card walking by: front and back. If we weren’t using a card, where would we put cash? I wouldn’t feel comfortable leaving cash in the open on a table, unsecured. Lastly, from a former server’s standpoint, it would be difficult to carry, keep multiple cards and receipts straight, and would take one of my hands away when also balancing the needs of my other tables. I say get normal server books for easy transactions and cash handling. Side note: thank goodness we weren’t seated at a table with stools. I would hate not to be able to lean back and relax at a table because my chair doesn’t have a back. Overall, 3/5."
