"I drove up from NYC to Schenectady for a hiking trip on the way to the hotel we were looking for food and came across Dave’s on yelp. Had never been there but the pictures looks delicious so we decided to give it a try. Dave warmly welcomed us into his restaurant. The atmosphere is very homey and comfortable. Dave’s Gourmet Burgers is a one man show, he does it himself, “I love to cook.” This does mean your food comes with a bit of a wait (if he’s serving a few people at the same time) but it is definitely worth the time spent. He’s famous black fries are amazing and bottomless with every meal, so don’t worry you’re munching away while you wait. You don’t find places like this in the city. It felt like we were eating a home cooked meal and the food is delicious. As a vegetarian it is sometimes difficult to find veggie options but Dave had about 5 veggie burgers on his menu (which is a lot more than I normally find elsewhere). Dave is very friendly and pleasant to talk to, if I lived near by it would be one of my “go to” places. Definitely recommend. Would definitely go back again."
