"I always read the reviews before I eat at a restaurant. Needless to say, I was hesitant with Sushi Sasa because of some recent mixed reviews. But I felt compelled to come on here and say that the reviews left for this place are super unfair! I had a phenomenal experience in front of the owner and head chef Wayne, who actually mans the sushi bar, and we got to talking about the cacophony of varying reviews for the restaurant. He explained to me that it has been unbelievably difficult to navigate staffing issues as well as the implementation of a recent service charge replacing the traditional tip model designed to benefit his entire team post-pandemic. Actually, I learned that this is more the way things are done traditionally in Japan. I have my fair share of doubts with some of the super negative reviews based on my experience. I can confidently say after talking with Wayne and his crew, if you reached out directly before leaving a horrible review, that they would make things right and exceed your expectations! Sorry Sushi Sasa if I brought your points down by listing this review as a 1 star rating, but I figured folks reading the other negative reviews should see this one as well. With all this being said, you get 10/5 stars in my book, and I don’t put a lot of stock in these companies holding so much clout over restaurants anyway…"
