"This diner is nice and quaint. Seemed like the place to go for the locals. The wait staff knew most of the patrons inside. The food was delicious. Orders came out rather quicky. Everything ordered was tasty. I had a young child with me, the staff offered them coloring/activity pages and crayon. The child I was with was pleasantly surprised when they saw they had pages of activities and not just a single page to color. The crayons provided were crayons of different colors outside of the standard red, blue, and red. The wait staff was fun. Very attentive to the table. If ever in the area again, I would go back."

"The last time I was in this restaurant was 1989 when I went to school at Post College. Almost 30 years later, food still good. Unfortunately we went on Sunday at noon and it took an hour to get the food. All good food. You need to work on food preparation and kitchen management."

"Stopped by tonight for the first time for dinner. The service was fine but wasn 't too impressed with the food. I ordered Brian 's Peppercorn Sirloin on the recommendation of staff and a small Gary 's salad. The pears were canned and not great in a salad and the candied pecans were far too sweet with all the other sweetness going on in my opinion. The size of the salad was pretty good for a side, however. As for the steak, while cooked properly, the mushrooms and onions weren 't sauteed at all and were pretty much raw. This and a sauce that reminded me way too much of Salisbury Steak Sauce ruined what might have been an otherwise acceptable cut of meat. The garlic mashed potatoes were acceptable but weren 't served hot. The sauteed veggies that came with were ok. My wife ordered a beyond burger which satisfied her, but also was topped with sauteed onions that were essentially raw. The onion rings may have been the best part of the night, hot, fresh and whole rings of onion inside. ______ Reply to owner: Canned pears and super sweet pecans might be for some people, maybe even most, but it wasn 't for me. Serving raw onions and mushrooms on top of a steak and burger isn 't a matter of preference, it shows that the person preparing the food either doesn 't know what they 're doing behind the grill or just doesn 't care. I don 't even know what to say about the Beyond Burger comment, it 's on your menu and my wife is a vegetarian. It 's not just fair game, but the only reason we came to the restaurant in the first place. If a manager had come by and asked how things were, I would have let them know. I provided my opinion based on my experience, I 'm sorry you don 't like my opinions, but I don 't apologise for either having them nor for sharing them on a review site. When I read other people 's dining reviews I want to know what to eat and what to steer clear of. There 's a million places to eat dinner at, but you only have 1 chance to make a great first impression. Unfortunately this one fell less than great."

"Hi My friends, and welcome to Blue Point Long Island. For over 10 years I lived in this peaceful maritime area. This beautiful Waterfront community is situated on the East End of the South Shores of Long Island. Bordering Western Patchogue. For years, The Blue Point Diner has been a wonderful neighborhood local spot where my friends and I would enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. You'll always feel welcome in this little roadside Diner where everybody knows your name. The daily newspapers are available.. but usually not needed here at the Blue Point Diner. Early in the morning it's alive with neighborhood activity, it's is the center of gossip and conversations for this community. You can find out who's getting divorced, who's selling their house or who just got a brand new speed boat. Wake up and find out all the morning town gossip just by having breakfast here. The owner and head chef George, usually knows what you'll want to eat without you needing a menu, he knows all of his customers and Friends by name. And he knows what you usually get. Everybody in Blue Point has been coming here for years. It was great to have breakfast at the Blue Point Diner again, I have missed my peaceful, waterside community since moving to Flushing 5 years ago. Walking in this morning, the owner George, remembered me immediately. My absence of 5 years was like moments, and he filled me in on all the neighborhood gossip. And of course, he knew what I wanted, the deluxe pancake special. The food was wonderful fresh and delicious as it always has been. The quality of the breakfast sausage and bacon is a little better than some other breakfast places you might find. Everything here is made with care from scratch. I'm very picky about my food and read some of the other reviews. For this spot. I'd like to say that I've been in here over 50 times in 10 years. I've never seen anything other than a spotlessly clean establishment serving fresh, top quality, homemade food. I just loved coming here to start my day. Some of my best memories. For breakfast lunch or dinner folks, You can't go wrong at the Blue Point Diner. Owned and operated by a local family of hard-working, caring people. See you again soon folks."

"We have never had a bad experience at any of the Molly browns until today. Our waitress whispered everything, couldn’t hear her, she was very stand offish, and rude. We waited forever for our food when someone finally brought it to us she stated I thought you already ate. My food was cold my husbands wasn’t. Our waitress checked on us once since being sat. When we were checking out I told my husband to have them take then side of gravy off because we never got it. We were talking to each other and the lady up front said what did you need looked at, what did you need taken off the bill- very rudely. We told her and she had an attitude about it. Communication classes are needed for these two!"

"My wife and I took our five year old granddaughter to breakfast at the Margate Lester’s Diner this morning. We have been customers for twenty-five years or more. We ask for and were given a booster for our granddaughter. She can’t fit in a high chair and can’t reach the table from the chair. We have never had a problem with getting a booster but after we received breakfast the waitress came to the table and said the manager sent her to tell us we couldn’t use the booster due to insurance regulations. When we starting asking questions the waitress brought back a nasty manager who said we had two choices, my granddaughter could sit in a high chair or on a chair. I guess this is the new child unfriendly Lester’s Diner. She told us a child had fallen off the chair in a booster and they couldn’t use them anymore. They make boosters with straps but I guess that would cost them money and that wasn’t given as a future choice. I don’t know why the booster was available and given to us in the first place, if they weren’t permitted to be used. I would also like to know why the nasty manager waited to tell us until after the meal was delivered. They lost a loyal customer."
