All meats are made/crafted on site according to their website and they heat them properly so they are fall-apart tender (fat has been lovingly rendered to melty perfection) yet still moist. Shorty's pastrami is on par with the best pastrami in NY. If you're a Jewish Rye snob, you will be happy (also made on site); even for someone who rarely eats carbs, their bread is absolutely worth the extra time at the gym. Naturally everyone's family recipe differs a bit on pickling, yet their pickles are true to what my grandma would make (not too sour, not too sweet, not too mushy, not too crunchy, not a funky tree tasting concoction of herbs or stinking of spice drops); they are refreshing and make me smile. Their website allows you to order ahead and pick up (you can still eat there if you'd like)."
