"Our family really enjoy this restaurant. We found it by happenstance for happy hour on our last visit to Houston. On a return trip to the area we made a point to find it again for dinner. We were not disappointed. It is clearly a neighborhood favorite, has a business-casual sophistication, friendly and welcoming service and the food is phenomenal. It is a wonderful respite after a long day at the medical centers and we will return for every visit in the future."

"Overall good and would go back (with ear plugs). Apparently Bergen country adults don’t know how to go out to dinner and refrain from screaming at one another across the table. I worry about the employees and hope they get their ears checked because they shouldn’t be subjected to the permanent hearing damage as a result of their job."

"Google tells me the last time I was here, was 4 years ago. I can't believe I waited so long to come back This place is great. We started out with the chefs special blackened ahi tuna, I would've sworn we received a double portion, it was huge and delicious. We both had French onion soup and massive salads. Our waitress was wonderful and definitely look forward to coming back again soon."

"I started with the pork skewers with cheese sauce and then had the sour beef and dumplings for my main course. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. The table agreed that the beef was delicious. The sour beef and sauce were excellent, although the dumplings could use some improvement. There was something off about the texture and consistency of the dumplings that I couldn't quite pinpoint. I would still order this dish again, but maybe swap out the dumplings for potatoes the next time."

"Started with oysters on the halfshell. I could have eat a dozen more, but I wanted to save room for desert. Moved on to my favorite, eggplant orleans, it never disapoints. The desert of the day was sweet potatoes cobbler. My grandmother used to make one and I have never heard of anybody else making one. It was not like my grandmothers, but it did not disappoint On top of great food we also had great service."

"First time here we got takeout to go and the seafood bisque was amazing! I liked it so much that I ordered a large the next day and they gave me a half full styrofoam cup. It was skinnier but filled to the same height as the small cup we got. I marked the soup line, filled it with water when I was done, and poured it into the smaller container to confirm. Less soup! The person at the counter insisted it was a large. I feel like I got shorted :(Edit: Talked to the chef who was apologetic and offered to make things right , good customer service on her end. Added back a star because it was good bisque."

"It advertises Cajun food my wife and I tried the gumbo the seafood and the chicken and andouille sausage and the gator fries.We’ve been to New Orleans a few times and the food here tastes like it does there... amazing! I had a burger called swamp thing my wife had the garlic mushroom steak both were done perfect and tasted great. The drinks and service were excellent as well! Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!"

"We started with appetizers and ordered French fries for the girls, then placed our dinner orders. After finishing the appetizers and waiting for our main courses, our server informed my daughter that they had run out of lobster tails, forcing her to choose a different dish. We had ordered over 30 minutes earlier, so this was quite frustrating. She decided on crab legs instead, and we waited at least another 30 minutes for our food to arrive. When it finally came, the food was just okay. Given our total bill of $450, I expected much better service. After more than two hours, we received the bill, which I paid promptly as the children were becoming restless. On my way out, I asked to speak with the manager to discuss our disappointing dining experience. Unfortunately, he could only offer a $25 gift certificate, which was hardly sufficient since it barely covered the cost of one appetizer. We definitely deserved better than this."

"Hostesses at the front stand was rude seemed bothered to do their job, we were clearly interrupting their conversations. We arrived early at 5:35p asked if we could have drinks at the bar until our reservation at 6:15p. The hostesses told us they don’t take reservations, I told them I had one with Open Table, tried showing them my confirmation email, they didn’t want to look again said they don’t take reservations but could seat us if we wanted. We obviously wanted a table so we said yes I told one of the ladies that she may want to inform her manager that Open Table makes reservations for them, without any acknowledgment, she sat our menus down and walked away. Our server was amazing because of her we were able to enjoy our dinner for sure. Sushi platter was blah, you could tell it was all pre-made as the avocados were browning and the tempura was cold mushy, entrees were delicious though we had no room for dessert. Definitely overpriced, but not the servers fault at all."

"Great ambiance, service and food. The service was too good but the busboys were constantly roaming the table to take empty plates or dishes back so we felt rushed and it was annoying. I am assuming they wanted to turn the table over quick. That is my only complaint and I would recommend Waypoint to a friend. Ty John Kayes"

"My wife and I are in our 60s and this is a top 10 all time restaurant based on our travels in the US and Europe. Superb service from Glen with recommendations, perfect pacing and service. Tableside Ceasar for two, perfect MR filets and a Grand Marnier souffle order early with cocktails) reminded us of our anniversary dinners at the Jockey Club in DC years ago. No more flying from Raleigh to Louisville to see our grandson, we will be driving and staying in Charleston to dine at Laurys!!!"

"this evening mamas Rump-Rost ordered. when it came to the table, it was hot and looked good. at cutting I discovered a big piece, so I tipped around to cut when I turned the whole brat. this whole piece of meat has been scratched! I had to be placed on the plate from the bottom and covered with heavy force. the waitress was just wondering when I said it was good until here. I was offered at least something else I rejected. the setting was in the round ok, yes my layer is almost over. So it was removed from my bill and we will not return. great mais, as he has been drained so often, as often reheated! a lot of luck for you young in the future with food and service that great you need! Maybe they should bring the crew of parish diner here to show these people how it is done as they also own this restaurant, and I have always great food and service there!"
