"We came here with hopes for a good meal and were SO pleasantly surprised! We are from Houston and there are only a few restaurants in Abilene that we have gone to more than once, and we can 't wait to return to Galveston Seafood Company. Fresh seafood isn 't exactly easy to come by in West Texas, but they have it and it is DELICIOUS! For an appetizer, we started with the calamari, and it was wonderful. I saw a couple of review who stated that you receive a huge portion of marinara and I second that. Still, I would rather have too much than not enough. We usually order two meals that we both want and then share between us so we ordered the redfish and a fried sampler. The fried shrimp was the best thing I have had in ages. The catfish was just like I like it. I prefer thin fillets as the thicker ones tend to taste catfishy to me. My meal came with fries but I added red beans and rice just to try them. They did not disappoint. Their recipe uses more tomato than I am used to but that extra gives it such a wonderful flavor. I 'll definitely start doing that with my own when I make it at home. Our other dish was the redfish topped with gumbo and crawfish tails. The texture and flavor were perfect. I could eat it every day. We were too full for desert, and also didn 't order any drinks from the bar. However, we were happy to notice that they serve filtered water. (Seriously so many restaurants in Abilene don 't filter the water and it is a small thing that goes a long way in my book) Everyone in the building was friendly. Our server was attentive and I appreciated that he was quick to pre-bus rather than letting us sit with dirty unused dishes. The servers in the sections close by all seemed to be just as attentive and friendly. The restaurant was on a wait when we arrived. They told us 20-25 minutes but it was closer to 10. Maybe they quoted a longer wait time just in case, or perhaps the large party that was in the lobby that left in a huff because they had to wait cleared out the queue. Either way, we didn 't mind and after eating there I am glad to wait however long needed next time we are there. The group that (thankfully) left had a man that was about 6 '5 and at least 325 lbs that was yelling at the host and putting his finger in her face and shaking the host stand in the midst of his hissy fit. His wife was right up there with him egging him on. The manager was so polite as this guy was acting like an angry toddler. Call me old fashioned but nobody has any business being physically intimidating to another person (much less a woman who is less than half his size) or putting his hands anywhere near her much less slamming his hands on the host stand. It 's abusive and it 's unacceptable. The staff apologized over and over for the disruption which I appreciated but was unnecessary. They handled him professionally when he deserved zero courtesy. Thank goodness he left. Everyone in the lobby cheered when he was gone and we went on to have a lovely meal."
