"takumen was our favorite restaurant lic when we lived in lic, and we look forward to an apology to go back to lic today so that we can revive takumen. pitched as a japanese izakaya, I find it quite unique, not a typical Japanese restaurant at all. maybe a Japanese hipster restaurant. with a cool coffee pastry shop entry point, full bar, a kind of artsy/indie/minimalist interior, combined with a large rice bowl and ramen lunch menu, plus excellent steak and sashimi dinner options, the place keeps it in every neighboring place. my only grip is that they were not a tip restaurant before, then when the minimum wage regime in nyc came into force, they increased their prices and began to invite tips. So they're gonna pay a few extra dollars for each. but it is still worth it."
