"We came from Richmond, VA to Oakland for a work trip. When we were planning our stay, The Butcher’s Son kept coming up as one of THE vegan spots to try in the Bay Area. Suffice to say, we were not disappointed!!! The staff, chefs, and owners of TBS should give themselves HUGE props. Hands down some of the best vegan food we’ve ever eaten. Pictured are the buffalo chicken sandwich (seriously, get this) and the vegan reuben. Our meal was so great that we got dessert to-go! Hope that we are able to come back someday and enjoy this deliciousness all over again."

Hygrade Deli has been in business for over 65 years, managing to keep the same family running it for the past 45 years. The staff treats you like family and the food is on pointCorned Beef is one of my favorite sandwiches. Slather on Thousand Island and top with kraut and its the best! When I heard that Hygrade Deli was the place to score one of their famous Reubens, I couldn’t wait to get in there and try one. That’s not all they have. With a menu including sandwiches, soups, entrees, and breakfast, Hygrade Deli is your one stop shop for everything delicious."

"here is so delish. I see it on my way to home from work every day, and it came highly recommended. I had the absolute pleasure to talk to the owner, nate, who had some amazing recommendations and cool layers. they have very unique gourmet hot dogs and a huge vegan selection. I can't help but appreciate that they are with the time. they have delicious vegan gelato, vegan rice crispy tasty and great vegan menu selection. I suggest the grill hotdog with her koleslaw, which contains fresh cut apples. everyone is very friendly there, you can say that there is a lot of passion behind what they do. very cool, clean atmosphere. simple parking space. the quality and camaradery is unmatched!"

"That was one of my favorite places a year ago. I couldn't get enough, but things change. Not only is it not as good as I remember, but it is hard to pay the $20 price (including for a lunch that is essentially meat, cheese and mustard. "Cozy little shop with homemade food that is worth the wait. If you don’t order ahead, waits can exceed one hour on the weekend. But if there are seats available, get some coffee and wait in the cute interior decorated with succulents and Garfield memorabilia. The handmade flour tortillas and hot sauce are fantastic. Sundays feature biscuits that you can get for breakfast sandwich on."
