"I LOVE bbq and as a new Texan I was excited to start seeking out the best bbq restaurant. I was craving bbq 1 day and just had to get it I stumbled on Mckenzie's and bought the rib plate! After that I've been a LOYAL customer!! I go pick up my food and only waited maybe 2 minutes, some ppl know me by name and continue to give me friendly quality service EVERYTIME! the price for what you're getting is sooooo worth it!! Place is clean, staff are friendly and food is amazing 10000/10!!!"

Aside from the food being fantabulos, Omar was friendly and helpful with his recommendations, and the music set a peaceful atmosphere. When I return to the ATL area, I will definitely go out of my way to eat here again!"

"This place was recommended to me twice by strangers, specifically for the ribs. I ordered the ribs. The ribs were tender, but not very flavorful. I've definitely had better. My friend ordered some brisket which was tasty. Service was very good and my child enjoyed his Mac and cheese. They offer children a free root beer float, which we didn't take them up in."

"Just grabbed a combo for lunch. Ribs and brisket. I've always been a fan of Bonos mustard sauce and it's still very good after all these years. The ribs were big and meaty and tasted great, but the brisket was a bit dry. It was ok but not as good as expected. The baked beans were excellent too. The mac-n-cheese was terrible as I only had one small bite. Overall, the ribs were great and the brisket was ok when covered in the sauce. It was a Tuesday after lunch around 2pm. They have an outside walk up window for togo orders and we ordered after getting there. The employees were friendly and professional, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes."

"Southern BBQ pork is a favorite meal. I have it on a solid recommendation that Bono's is the best place to eat a meal with this meat in Jacksonville. I do not live in Jacksonville so I have not tried other places. I have now eaten at two of their restaurants and the results have been very good. On the latest visit, I had a salad with BBQ on top. The salad was fresh, the lettuce was fresh and the pork had excellent flavor. The pork was a little less moist than I prefer. Another person in our party ordered the BBQ pork plate and it was more moist. No idea why the difference, probably just from a different roast. The salad had fresh, light green lettuce that was very crisp. The cucumbers were fresh. My salad came with a boiled egg for an extra charge and it sounded good for including it on a salad. There are a variety of sauces to put on the pork. I went for one that was described as sweet. It was and I liked it very much. The restaurant has a pleasant, informal ambiance. There are not many places where there is a large alligator on the wall. This one appeared to be stuffed and near the entrance. (See the photo of the alligator below. There is a large pit in the restaurant where patrons can see the meat cooking. It is a nice touch and creates an impression this is a good place to eat as the meat is cooked there and it is always fresh. The food was full of flavor, the service was good and atmosphere provided a pleasant place for a lunch. The large American flag on the wall adds to the patriotic atmosphere and seems perfect in a Southern BBQ restaurant!"

"I get takeout from here regularly and it's usually a very big order and they never mess up the order. The staff are great and always remember us when we come in. And I like my food well done and they always make the fries and onion rings extra crispy, and they will give me the most well done meat. I highly recommend it and they will cook your food the way you like it."

"We have been frequenting the Collinsville location for 19 years now. The barbecue is consistently high quality every time. This is our go-to spot when out-of-town guests and friends ask for St. Louis barbecue. It is very kid-friendly, as we have 4 picky kids who always find something they enjoy here. The service is great when dining in, and we typically come for dinner."

"this place is amazing! we went through a trip and were blown away. the ribs and bologna sandwich were fantastic and all they could wish of bbq, and they don't call the side. borons, coleslaw and potato salad were all heavenly, competing with the meat for top spot. even the chicken teeth of my child tasted great. the atmosphere is also wonderful and cozy, with friendly staff and an old-fashioned feeling. would go again!"

"As we shop today with my oldest daughter in J-ville, we stumbled over this beautiful barbecue area. We just waited a while, but as soon as we have a table, the server was very friendly and polite. The food was amazing starting with the roasted Okra. It was perfect. The ribs were moist and perfectly seasoned. The chicken was also delicate and moist. Beans and Mac and cheese were there. I'm looking forward to coming back soon. Visit a place near you. You won't be disappointed, I assure you."
