"Every time I’m in town, this has always been the best place to come to with delicious dining options without having to drive to Northampton for finer dining that isn’t commercialized . Tavern On the Hill was excellent prior to recently changing the menu and now only serving BBQ. When we walked in, the staff was not as attentive or welcoming and it was all young kids who lacked hospitality skills. We were seated in the lower dining area for roughly 10 minutes without being acknowledged and it wasn’t busy. After being provided menus, we realized everything we usually ordered every time we are here was removed from the menu and in shock because we don’t care for BBQ. The French Onion Soup, Thai Mussels, the Pear Vanilla Vinaigrette salad and the Jumbalaya were the best here and my favorite most flavorful items. We ended up getting up from our table after deciding we were going to go somewhere else for dinner and then proceeded to sit at the bar. I’ve never waited so long to be asked if I wanted anything to drink here and a full 35mins later we finally had a cocktail, cashed out and left. It was not the same. Cocktail was good, as always."
