"Moonshine Flats has been a pillar of the San Diego line dance community for 9 years and it is an explosion! I'll take people out of town because there's something for everyone. You want to dance? They have you. You want to play pool? Do they have you? You want a break from the dance scene? Walk through the hallway and climb to the deck for tons of games and a chill vibe. Thursdays are Line Dance Night. If you're a dancer, it's your night to shine. Not really a ton of two steps or country swing possibilities, but line dance grandeur and not just country songs, you will dance like Jason DeRulo, Maroon 5, Ava Max.... even if you don't dance, it's a ton of fun to go and hear good music and watch people do their thing. You put the name of the dance on the big screen, so you know what dance is to do, and they usually have several dance lessons per night, so you can come to the action even if you are new. And trust me... no one watches you (they watch the really good dancers), so don't be afraid to come out and try. Fridays and Saturdays dance up to about 1030 and then a live band. If you like live country/rock, here and there are pretty good regular bands that turn with a rising and upcoming country artists concert. The dancing line typically winds around 10 and becomes an open dance floor. The drinks are not the cheapest and are not the best, but the concepts (as suck it from a bucket) are fun and let us be real - you have not come to a line dancing country bar to get the best cocktails in the city. I give him 5 stars, because it is a reliable good time, good music, the staff is generally friendly, and it is one of the more unique and fun bars where you can have a dance party as an adult without the whole club vibe. How many places can this be? If you are a line dancer, Thursdays are best. Weekends are fun and there is something for everyone here."
