A nostalgic dessert with toasted marshmallows and rich chocolate sandwiched between crispy graham crackers.

"drinks and service and atmosphere were great, but eating was seriously underseasoned. no detectable salt in the risotto, the pasta, the chicken, the meatball or the sauce. it is the basic error that a cook can make. caramel tiramisu was ok, but it really is not tiramisu without espresso or chocolate. very strange unprecise meal for a moderately expensive restaurant. at this price should be given delicious food. that would have been a moderate meal in an olive garden. but ride to the bartender, and the waitress was responsive and cheerful, although it seemed that the restaurant was somewhat understated."

"Overall a poor experience. My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and try out a new place. We made reservations but weren't on the list when we got there. We were asked to wait for a table even though tables were available because the chef was backed up on orders, and it would be appreciated if we waited 15 minutes before being seated and that it would take at least a half hour before we would be served. We sat at the bar and had two overpriced glasses of house wine, $15.00 each while we waited. When we were seated the waiter was very nice and attentive. It took a little over an hour to be served our food. Two sliders and french fries, $18.00 each. My sliders were barely warm. When asked about our dinner, I explained our experience and was told that they had a very large take-out service, which caused the delay. The restaurant was half empty. I would think, that with the prices they expect, that they would provide a little better service than what I could get at a White Castle. We won't be going back."

"Hiyesterday at 3.11 pmi and my husband ordered FAINTED PIKACHU. After the third part of it, in 15 min, i had a problem with digestion. And that was before training, what as less as i needed.I put the leftovers of ice cream in a freezer. and my husband ate it in the morning, 3 spoons after a proper and nutritious meal.in 10 min he also had the food poisoning. I think that is bad and unacceptable. You must check the groceries you use!"

"I can't write enough positive things about this place. We came out of town and needed a place for Christmas dinner. I'm so glad that was open. The service was PHENOMENAL. We were served immediately, constantly refilled drinks checked, food came out quickly. Our waitress was so nice and personal. It seemed like everyone was working together. The food was also amazing. The prices for what you get are great. The seafood nachos are something I will probably talk about for a while. The San Francisco and Blackened Chicken Pasta were both huge and delicious. Honestly, if they were open at Christmas, we would have gone back. It was so good. 10/10 would recommend."

"The food at this restaurant was delicious, but there were some issues with timing. Our dishes were brought out at different times, leading to my daughter only receiving her pancake after the rest of us had finished eating. It seemed like they may be serving food as it's ready, possibly due to COVID restrictions, which was a bit strange. The specialty pancakes were nothing special and could benefit from having their sauces warmed up or served at room temperature. It was disappointing to have cold pancakes due to the cold syrup being poured on top and left to sit. On a positive note, my older daughter did enjoy the acai bowl."

"The Java House Café was so much more than expected. The modern design fooled me when I got into business. The interior is open and welcoming. I was immediately drawn to the amazing homemade items that lined the left side of the café. Crochet bags, animals, stoneware and jewelry. I loved the attractive and cozy area at the fireplace to relax and enjoy! Oh, and the coffee and lunch were perfect. I enjoyed a Mocha Latte and the Broccoli cheese soup with one side of bread for lunch. A great choice for this cool autumn day here in Michigan. There are many parking spaces and an outdoor seating area. Prices are appropriate for this type of cafe. The friendly and dedicated staff is wonderful and charming to chat with. Stop and relax, enjoy the company and the joyr environment."

"We ordered via Grubhub, but I wouldn 't recommend this way, as we never received confirmation when the order was actually ready. We were told how long it would take, but we had to call to see if it was ready. It was, but then I had to stand in a line outside to pick up the food. I wish they had taped X ' 's in the ground, as the guy behind me stood too close. The food, fortunately, was still warm. This was my first time here and I was very pleased with the food, which was in large portions. They add fruit to the meal. It was too much for me to finish, but the potatoes and the Gorgonzola scramble was delicious!"

"First off, I will start by saying I was not offered a free visit to give a review. My friends and I were having a bday brunch and found this restaurant while we were scrambling for another choice as the initail brunch spot had some issues and we could not eat there anymore. This is just my honest opinion! Parking: It is not as easy to find the parking lot, but they have clear signs about where to find parking. The parking garage has a lot of parking spaces and you can validate your ticket at the restaurant! So yes, even though it is a paid parking garage, it is free for paying guests. Food: Since this is a buffet style meal, some items were a hit, and some were meh!. We were a party of five, and each tasted something different! Everyone loved the sweet potato and pastrami hash. The biscuits were smaller in size than what I am used to, but I think that was perfect, and the eggs were very creamy! Another hit at the table was the fruit and yogurt the shrimp and grits the seasoning used was to die for). The quiche was cold, and the Mac Cheese and turkey sausage were so so. All in all, the food was tasty, and the only big issue I had was not really the taste but more environment. Since it is a buffet style, you have to go get your own food, which is located in the kitchen area. In this case there are certain things I prefer to leave to my imagination when I eat out just because of who I am as a person and so for me seeing that, I was not enticed to eat properly. I was just making it clear that the restaurant was not dirty and I did not observe any unclean practices, but because I was going through an active kitchen, I did not feel enticed to eat. Again, this is just a personal ick and one of the reasons I give the restaurant 4 stars because for that price point, I want all my senses to be wowed. Drinks: The drinks were wonderful. Most people in my party got the Orange Mimosas, which did what it had to do. It was strong and just the perfect buzz for brunch. Service: The service was good. We were seated pretty quickly, and luckily, there was no wait time. As soon as we sat, they took our drink orders, and then we went to eat. Throughout our meal, we were always checked on, and I really appreciated that!"

"molly’s offers 3 frosting 2 cupcake options for vegans. for freezing: edible butter, chocolate and vanilla. for cupcakes: chocolate vanille. they can add whatever they want to their preferred basics. when they come in molly’s, there are all kinds of pretty cupcakes in the offer, but none of those in the display are vegan. they pull vegans from container behind the counter and then add frosting. it is a kind of grief that they do not offer fun options, such as their standard emission cupcakes. at their moines location they sometimes have vegan specialties or filled vegan cupcakes. but in iowa city it is exactly the same three. I'm glad they have vegan options, but I wish they were more exciting. I want a reason to get in more often. the cakes are a little dense. they are easier at scratch cupcakery in coralville. in general, I would recommend scratch over molly’s. (plus, they have fun, daily changing aromen on scratch the soy lattes are however at mollys grandios, and the ambiente is really sweet. they could wipe the tables more often."

"I enjoy their happy hour and sunset menu, but get a table if you want to order from the early vogel menu because they ignore it at the bar. it's like the bartenders don't want the early diners. trust me, I'm a very good tipper and even ordered bar drinks after happy hour end and the bartenders are all beautiful then but ignore during 4 to 6."

"The service at this restaurant was incredibly slow. It took over 2 hours to receive our food during Saturday lunch. The waiter was extremely busy and forgot to take our drink orders until 15 minutes later. It took almost an hour for our food to finally arrive, and when it did, the sauce that was supposed to be on the side ended up on the eggs. Despite the mistake, I didn't send it back due to the long wait. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed and couldn't keep up with the amount of orders. While I have visited this restaurant many times for a leisurely brunch, this experience was slow and frustrating. Unless you have 3 hours to spare for brunch, I would recommend considering other options. I even had to ask for a refill on my hot water for tea, which was disappointing as it did not meet the usual standard of service."
