"Always love getting the Deep Fried Seaweed Roll Taste great and has a lovely crunch, paired with the lettuce they give you on the side. The sauces are also super good!! Something that is definitely fulfilling and worth it : The Soft Tofu Stew is where it shines though. I tried multiple of their soup/soups and this is by far my favorite as I was craving tofu. Super super silky, the stew literally has bursts of flavor and its mouthwatering. I was really sure what to expect when it came to adding things to it like meat, dumplings, or even tuna, but maybe I chose the wrong one? I picked out mushrooms thinking itll be one of those shiitake/oyster mushrooms, but it was the same youd find on pizza- and there were dozens of them. I personally wouldnt order it with that again, but I dont mind them much since I love mushrooms either way. I just wouldnt recommend the average person to. Definitely pick something else haha. The stew also came with lots of sides, so Im really happy about that. Definitely worth the money especially with these portion sizes and great taste. Will always be buying from here :"

"Thank you Sae Jong Kwan for a KOREAN BBQ feast for my friends and I, yesterday Friday evening May 21st 2010. Prior to this event, I made a reservation for the group as part as International Cuisine Enthusiasts meetup event. Several friends opt for the BBQ table, while some other friends and I opt for the kitchen to do all the cooking for us. With the extensive menu, for those WHO ARE INTO KOREAN BBQ, Special BBQ MENU are divided into 4 portions ranging from $45.95 to feed 3 people and up to $99.95 to feed 6 people. Then for those who wants to order from the main menu such as BBQ prepared by the kitchen, Stews, Bibimbob, Noodles and Grilled items the prices are between $9.95 to $32.95. While waiting for our main entree to arrived, the waitstaff named Ms Young and her assistance, bring out the Korean side dishes and rice. Each of us, get a bowl of rice for our personal consumption. As for me, I order the Galbi, 3 pieces of BEEF SHORT RIBS marinated and cooked and also an order of Spicy Grilled Squid with vegetables. I like the Galbi a lot for this I give them 4 stars while my Spicy Grilled Squid is about 3.25 to 3.5 stars. I like the flavor of the Galbi. Was slightly dissapointed on the Spicy Grilled Squid, since its not as spicy as I want it to be, though I have requested it to be EXTRA SPICY. As for my other friends, one of them order the Bibimbob, another ordered the BBQ Chicken marinated with Special Sauce and those who sat at the BBQ table order the following : Galbi (Beef Short Ribs) BBQ Pork Bulgogi (Beef) Cubed Rib Greenbean pancake Porkneck Bone Soup Monkfish w beansprouts So Ju If you happen to need refills of the rice and other side dishes, just press the bell that is on your table. The waitstaffs will come to your RESCUE. The waitstaff is indeed attentive, prompt and friendly. I am indeed stuffed by the end of my Korean feast. Had leftovers of the Galbi and Grilled Squid for Hubs too. My friends like what they ordered. All in all, I like this place and I dont mind returning back to Sae Jong Kwan to have my meal here anytime! By the end of our dinner many more patrons came in having their late dinner galore!"

"After watching a series of Korean dramas, it is hard not to be curious of the cuisine that they are all happily eating in the shows. So, as a way to further immerse myself into the shows that I watch, I wrangled up my husband to join me on this epic Korean cuisine adventure. First we had the pork belly cooked in nothing other than the pig shaped table stove top, then came the seafood crepe, then the Korean Army stew (the Bude Jigae, aka my obsession), the Bibimbap, and the Ramen. Did we eat all of this at once? Maybe...? Maybe not..? Nevertheless, my favorite is the Bude Jigae with ramen and the cheese. Weirdest combination of ingredients but makes the best leftovers with its spiciness of the kimchee and its random mixture of meats. If food could teleport me to their origin countries by how wonderful they taste, this place would be my port."

"Pretty good Korean restaurant near UC Berkeley. We took our God daughter, who is a newcomer in the UC Berkeley, for lunch. We found this restaurant on Yelp with good reviews. Since our God daughter likes spicy food, we ordered some sharp Korean food. She seemed to have enjoyed the soft tofu with beef in medium-sized soup. We tried the Chopchae and it was delicious. We also had BBQ pork belly and it was delicious. Another good dish we ordered was the Kimchi pancake. It is similar to the Chinese onion pan cake. You did a good job. All dishes came with rice and a few small sides like Kimchi and Seetang. We chose the brown rice. You can also go to regular white rice with food. The prices are reasonable at about $12-15 of each court. The service was good and the food came pretty fast. Parking is on the road with two hours limit."

"Hammer time “Too legit to quit” yes this place rocks and better than some of the trendy Korean bbq places in Jtown. You can’t go wrong. They serve up some delicious stuff. Not cheap but for SF it is quite good. And the authentic charcoal cooking is dead on."

"service was extremely poor. had to go into the bar to drink and softdrink refilled us - we were not asked. After 1.25 hours we had to inform ourselves about our meal times, and when we did, they came in 5 minutes, but only 2/4 meal times. a person in our party has not received their meal, even after 15 minutes of us all received our meals so that we cancelled the order. we can safely understand overworked staff and a secured kitchen that happens, but we have zero updates on the way, zero check-ins for beverage refills, etc. we went back to char’d, because we had visited the city and dimmed about a year ago, at which time the experience was amazing. we can now say that we will not be back for a third visit that is a shame because eating is great!"

"My coworker and me ordered soft tofu soup. Last time our orders come with 4 small side dishes. This time they only gave one side dish. We called and were told that “sorry, we are busy, so only one side dish today. Next time you will have 4 side dishes”. WHAT!!!!???? are you oh kidding me?I understand you might have no time to pack 4 side dishes for our orders as you explained over the phone with your broken English. Then shouldn’t you provide a discount?? We paid the full price! Oh btw…. "I go to Sunhee's often love it- I usually get the bibimbap radish pickles, although the kimbap rolls are equally good and I've heard good things about the kimchi fried rice for vegetarians. "The Kimchi Jeon looked exactly like the picture of the seafood one weirdly super sweet with other filler fried vegetables inside it and the sauce for it just tasted almost like diluted anchovy soup base took one bite and it was honestly inedible. Boiled Dumpling was tiny but plentiful nothing really to write home about the sauce for both was the same. Super disappointing."

"Read some reviews and was very excited to sample another Korean joint in the city but I would say the experience was slightly lackluster.First of all, AC. I don't know how or why, but I was legit sweating the entire time eating there (and no, not because the food was spicy). Could the outside be even cooler than the inside? I don't know, but it was a little unbearable for an indoor dining experience in a hot humid summer time.My friend and I tried the following dishes: Korean fried chicken (sweet chili) 3.5/5. It was the popcorn boneless chicken. It's crispy on the outside. Good snack and app but it's not quite as satisfying as other Korean fried chicken I have had at other joint Beef bulgogi 3.7/5. Probably one of the most popular dishes I saw on the reviews. Was very excited to order but it came out a little dry and not as flavorful as it should have achieved Soondubu (Tofu stew) w/ seafood 3.8/5. Love that there's a lot of content (tofu and seafood) in the stew but the spice level needs to get turned up a lot just to live up to its potential.All in all, nothing is wrong about the food. But it certainly feels white washed, by a huge degree. When we walked out, all we were thinking was this joint somewhere else that really brought us that feeling of authenticity and satisfaction. And we should just go there next time."

"This place is amazing! It's definitely my favorite AYCE Kbbq place I've been to so far. I went on a Wednesday evening and they were not too busy. My party and I were seated right away. They do have a waitlist on Yelp so you can reserve a place in line when they are busy. The restaurant is not super big, but it is nice inside. Their AYCE menu is 30$ per person. The meats here tasted amazing!! Seriously this is the first Kbbq around the area that has amazing quality meat. My party tried the spicy chicken, marinated chicken, galbi, bulgogi, brisket and shrimp. The chicken here tasted amazing! I usually find chicken at Kbbq restaurants dry and not flavorful. But at Meat project the chicken was so good!! The galbi and bulgogi were my favorite for sure. I can't stress enough how good their meat was. The quality and flavor was amazing. The shrimp was not super great, but everything else was delicious. Their sauces tasted delicious too with the meat. They have side dishes as well. We only tried the potato salad, kimchi, rice, bean sprouts and some type of coleslaw. Everything tasted great. Since it wasn't so busy the service was good as well. I highly recommend trying this place out! I can't wait to be back"
