"The onion rings were excellent and my steak was delicious and tender. The buttery chocolate mousse was fantastic. Our server was amazing! It's a shame that this restaurant is now closed. I'm disappointed that I'll have to travel to the west side of downtown Portland for a good steak. So sad!"

"Have eaten here several times. Was surprised that with a reservation we were still sitting at a booth looking into the kitchen. We could have asked to be moved, but we didn't want to. The waiter was very enthusiastic, but failed to fill glasses of water without being asked. My husband's lasagna was a huge brick in the middle of an unadorned plate. A little salad or something green and crispy would have been nice. Not an à la carte fan, especially when it comes to the price of the main course alone. The room was very dark and a bit noisy. I would ask not to sit in this area another time."

"We drove 30 minutes to try Bette's and it was worth the wait for a table. We tried their seasonal pancake soufflé, which was unique and delicious. The scrapple was also a standout dish, crispy on the outside and full of flavor. Our server was attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even better. Overall, Bette's offers great food and service in a nice neighborhood, perfect for some window shopping afterwards. I highly recommend making a trip to Bette's!"
