"First night at Gate was just ok. We were there for a quiet, surgery recovery spot. Vegie lasagna was great. Fresh little gem salad was tasty, but the dressing was to be on the side. A huge amount of dressing covered the salad upon serving. Mom daughter Saturday brunch during our four day stay. Samantha, our server, was a charming, delightful addition to the restaurant. This was the best service of our three meals there. However, the quiche was over cooked, dry, dark brown on the bottom and black pepper used so aggressively, it was grey in color. Our dinner that evening got off to a bad start, after waiting for a server for minutes after being seated. We couldnât believe it either. They apologized and comped an appetizer a glass of wine. We then waited minutes for our baked potato, Brussels sprouts, swimming in oil) and flatbread. We suggest you order take out from the Mexican restaurant across the street if you want excellent food. For a lovely inn, they donât have the details aligned for their restaurant prices."
