"Sorry to report, but I was under impressed when my mother and I had lunch here. We were seated outside as requested, the inside was much too loud. Our drinks and orders were taken and delivered quickly. My mom ordered the pirogies and I had a caesar salad with shrimp. She enjoyed her pirogies, but I tasted them and they had probably been frozen. They sat on a bed of sautéed onions with sour cream. My salad tasted like it came from a bag of torn romaine, with a tasteless dressing and pre-shredded parmesan cheese. I could have made a much better salad at home. Needless to day, I won’t be returning, nor would I recommend this place to anyone else."

"I definitely overordered for myself, but everything I tried was excellent. I started with an iced tea, which was one of the best I've had. Many places serve watered-down iced tea, but at Marathon, it was richly brewed and actually tasted like tea—this is quite rare. Next, I enjoyed the Crispy Calamari, Elijah’s Mac & Cheese, and the Turkey Club. The calamari and mac & cheese were both fantastic; every bite made me crave another. The Turkey Club, on the other hand, was just average. By the time I got to the club sandwich, I was already full and ended up removing all the bread, just enjoying the bacon, turkey, and tomato instead. Everything was fresh, and the portions were generous for such affordable prices. I was really impressed with this place—it's simple, convenient, and budget-friendly. The service was quick and friendly as well. If I lived in Philly, I would definitely be a regular here."

"BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! NOW THEN! NEXT STEP! WRITE MY REVIEW. Been stopping in at Joan's on Third for years now. Why I never wrote about it is beyond me! Suffice to say each visit was pleasant and delicious but my most recent visit was fulfilling. I had their lox and bagel sandwich. It cost a mere $13 which was IMHO a steal for the amount of food it came with. Two giant slices of lox with their dill dressing, tomato lettuce and onion sitting on their original bagel. I had a croissant to go with a slice of home made meatloaf for my dinner. This is the place if you want/need pastries or prepared meals to go. It's also a people watcher place. Well, it's West LA what do you expect right? Street parking available or bike parking if you want to bike over"

"Disappointing Experience at This Bar We had a very disappointing experience at this bar. Upon entering, we were immediately directed upstairs to purchase our drinks. We were told that there were seats available upstairs. When we got there, we saw that there were free tables, but we were told that we couldn't sit there. We were then sent further up because there were supposedly more seats available. However, when we got to the top, we found no free chairs. It felt like they just wanted to sell us drinks quickly without considering that we had no place to enjoy them comfortably. We felt completely deceived and taken advantage of. This behavior is absolutely unacceptable. It seems like the people here are only interested in money and not in providing good service or ensuring the well-being of their guests. We cannot recommend this bar and definitely won't be coming back."

"My BF and I went to Coopers Hawk for a wine tasting last weekend and I was yet again reminded of how great CH is...not sure why i've been sleeping on it all this time! I've eaten there a couple times and the food was great but most recently we just went for a tasting. It was very busy when we got there but we were willing to wait since we were just doing a tasting. The wine tasting is at the front bar, there are no reservations and it's standing only so if you have difficulties standing for long periods please take that into consideration. Thankfully we only had to wait about 5 minutes for a spot to open up at the bar. The staff were all hustling, multi-tasking and serving multiple groups at a time but they were still able to be personable and did not make us feel rushed or in the way. There are three different tastings, sweet, luxe and variety which all include eight 1oz pours. Tastings are $10 each and the Luxe tasting is a $5 up charge but you get to try some of the fancier wines. If you are a wine club member and you get two or three bottles a month you get two tastings for free each month. We opted for the variety tasting and the Luxe tasting, the sweet tasting seemed TOO sweet. We shared all of our samples so we both got to try all of them which was nice. Pro tip: ask to try the barrel wine, it's a specialty wine and most of the time is sold out so you'll get an extra sample and you get to try an exclusive wine! Our entire wine tasting experience took about 45 minutes, i'm sure it's faster when they aren't as busy but we enjoyed just hanging out. This was a fun date night, we will definitely be back!"
