"This is a beautifully located restaurant on the top of a small mountaintop location that makes it feel like such an authentic Japanese location. I am giving 2 stars unfortunately do to the experience that we had at the restaurant (if you look at my profile I barely give 1 2 star reviews). The food was good, the drinks were good however our chef and server just didn?t have it tonight. No smiles, long waits and in general just not a pleasant attitude. The tables next to us were singing, laughing and tricks were being had. I?m sure for many the experience will be great, hopefully this can help provide some candid feedback to the restaurant management team."

"I ordered the 2 roll lunch, with spicy salmon and shrimp Tempoura. Both were fresh and delicious, but the spicy salmon was not spicy. I also go beef roasted rice, which was very good. Order again!"

"Went the other night to Atami and was treated to the best hibachi Chef I have had the pleasure if dining with. Been to probably 20 different hibachi places before but Jessie was amazing. He was incredibly engaging, super friendly, was cracking jokes with us the entire time, and the food was great! We've been to Atami probably 10 times or so, and was always happy, but he took it to another level. Definitely ask for him if you dine here, you will be happy you did!"

"What a great find! Everything here was awesome, from the Miso soup to the specialty roll, to our Bento boxes. Their luncheon Bento box is a great deal for lunch. $14 Best miso soup we've had in a while. The shrimp in the bento box was tender and flavorful, along with broccoli and sauteed onions. The server gladly exchanged the pork gyosa for shrimp as it was a Friday in Lent. After we drained out water glasses quickly, our server brought us over a bottle of water for refills. Just a great lunch for a good price. We finished off with bubble tea to go--try the Thai flavor. Service was highly efficient and attentive."

Also will NOT honor any gift certificates purchased with previous owner (kind of sus, selling gift certs if you’re thinking about selling your business). "The food was decent but felt rushed by waitstaff, which made the experience not as great. Not sure why the rush, because we were the only 2 in the restaurant around 3 pm (on a Wednesday). The indoor atmosphere is trendy, yet soothing. The outdoor seating is ample, but not as aesthetic as the inside?would still be great on a warmer day! No need to park off Broadway since there is a lot behind the building (driveway is on the narrower side)."
