"I have to give credit to Katie from Infatuation LA (La's food blog) for giving Lady Byrd Restaurant a recommendation as a dog friendly restaurant in LA. I actually forgot about the rec and my husband suggested it for our last day in LA which made me remember Katie's post. Parking and driving: We came here from Burbank and the navigation took us into a very San Francisco like drive through a hilly neighborhood that had very narrow streets and made us drive past a glimpse of LA from atop. However, once we got to the neighborhood where Lady Byrd was, the streets were huge and we were able to find parking along the streets. So peeps, get your backup cameras ready because you will have to parallel park. Waiting: Nestled in the nice Echo Park neighborhood is Lady Byrd. We stood outside in a line along the fence to get in. There will be a line because the restaurant is popular. Even my dogs stood patiently waiting in line. I like to read the worst reviews so I would go in with lower expectations. However, they lived up to the higher expectations. Atmosphere 4/5- I love the name Lady Byrd and the theme is so unique, vintage and whimsical. There are vintage bird cages everywhere. We were lucky enough to get seated in a bird cage, I mean a clear greenhouse that had a cute table, a wooden bench and a metal butterfly chair, a metal icecream parlor chair, another vintage chair, a cute little bud vase with flowers and hanging bird cage chandelier. I might steal this idea for my backyard or porch! I hope Fresno does something like this somewhere. It would be so neat! I could see Libelula in Fresno doing something like this, but with dragonflies. My one issue was that even with just us and the dogs, it was hard to get in and out of, a little cramped space, but I adored this super unique concept so much to have customers sit in a cage like area and feed them like they are birdies. There is also only one bathroom which is in the back and a line for. Service- 5/5- Our waitress was very friendly, quirky and sweet. It did take awhile for her to come back to us after we were seated, but once she did, she was super sweet. She did give us $10 coupons to return which I will gladly do or if you plan to come here from Fresno, hit me up. Food and drink- We love coca cola- It came in a can. We were provided wine glasses with a little bit of melted ice at the bottom. I would have preferred the glass to be full of ice to make my soda last longer. Water was provided in a bottle and stem less wine glasses. The stemless wine glasses needed a wash. Food came out on random vintage plates- Quirky. Maybe, they can start using Pyrex tuppaware too to serve. That would be neat. Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes- 5/5 absolutely delicious Spicy Pulled Pork Sandwich- 4/5, husband loved the taste, but disappointed there was no spice. Pricing- Fair. Our plates were about 20 bucks each and our drinks were 2.50 each plus tax and tip which added to about $56. Not super cheap, but not super expensive either. Definitely a must visit and must return in LA!"
