"We brought a cake to celebrate a double birthday, but it seemed to be overlooked during our meal. When we finished eating, our server asked if it was okay to bring out the cake. Instead of taking a moment to check for candles and decorations, he simply handed us the entire bag containing the cake box at our table. This felt somewhat lacking in terms of customer service, as most servers would typically present the cake with the candles already lit. The food itself was decent but not particularly memorable. Overall, it seems unlikely that we would return for another visit."

"A small to medium-sized japanese eatery. We went arrived with a large group without reservations, and they accommodated us by asking a couple who was just seated to move to a smaller table. We ordered at least 10 rolls, and they arrived tasty looking and in a short amount of time. The table service was good as well, offering drink refills and removing empty plates during dinner service. Would go again for sure when we are hankering for sushi."

"Sushi is good and consistent. They have changed over the last few years. Servings have gone down in size and up in price. I'm aware that most places have adjusted their prices but Sushi King used to be a better deal than other sushi places. Now it's the same price but not as good in quality than other options. They also used to have staff that was friendly and would take custom orders. No more custom orders. Staff is nice but not as professional as it used to be. This was my regular spot for over a decade. I still go once in a while but I have changed to a different spot with better quality for the same prices."

"The restaurant operates on a BYOB policy and may be a bit challenging for those with accessibility needs due to its tight squeeze. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, catching up with a friend, or enjoying elevated takeout or delivery. Although not fancy, the restaurant offers a level up in dining experience. One unusual aspect of the restaurant is that they offer bottled water for free, while charging for soft drinks and serving them in cans with free refills. This may result in a large amount of trash/recycling. Despite this, the quality of the food and service overshadows this minor inconvenience. It may seem strange to receive a Kirkland bottled water at an elevated sushi restaurant, but the overall experience is worth it."

"Our organization recently held an event here at the St. Charles location that turned out great! Manager Lauren was on the ball and easily accommodated the special program needs and we had attentive service. The restaurant has a pleasant, open atmosphere with good ambiance. Our bento meals had perfectly made tempura, fresh sashimi, and even special items. A big parking lot is around the corner. Many attendees commented on leaving as to what a wonderful event it was."

"Delicious, good portions and value for money $8.50 for the dons . Tempura included the delightful surprise of a shishito pepper a rare spicy one at that! which is not often found elsewhere. It is proper well executed tempura. Pork katsu was also very commendable for the moist thick cut. At lesser eateries katsus can be hard and rubbery. We were glad for the one set of chairs and table set up outside for us to scarf our food down before it got cold. Maximum social distancing with no one else being able to eat alongside, if you're lucky. Note that there's 4% card service charge so pay cash instead."

"It is a little overpriced on many things (like food! but they have a good selection of international food products, implementation food options and a good bakery. I prefer to do the amount of my grocery store elsewhere, but AJs is perfect if you want a small shop shopping experience... just be prepared for crowded shopping at the top of the snow birds season."
