"Just what an empty stomach needs. After the fight against the hair-drawing frustration of the navigating DFW's obstacle course for the second time in a week and a half and the attempt to get out during the rush hour, I was endlessly happy for the distraction we decided to take to Ole's on the way back. Storefront is inconvenient and easy to miss, so locals really need to support this place. It's not difficult to see why, really. Definitely not the best Mexican food (Tex-Mex is never to be honest), but head-spinning sections, inexpensive prices and stellar service that you feel like family can certainly promote loyalty. Chips were nothing special, but they were warm and not oversaled. Picante-style salsa was passable--I am not much of a fan of Salsas without bucks of paprika and onions, but it had enough spices to tolerate. Tableside guacamole service provided a great mass of things that we immediately decided to take home. Again, Guacamole was not all that special, and not with citrus (which seized me), but after a squeeze from the lemon wedge in my water, it was more than pleasant. And...no sooner than our Entrees came out, the observing server brought us a container for the extra guac and huge bag of fresh chips ready to take home. Do we take notes, other restaurants? As far as the main courses, they were incredibly massive and plentiful. Good ingredients and preparation. I had the Chile Verde plate, with a sauce that wore a savory tan, which complemented the delicate pig well. Rice wasn't fat. Charros brought a charming contrast to her undoubtedly homemade stock. Tortillas were perfect nearby, and they filled the warmer- so many other places will only give you 2-3. Our stomach was too exhausted for dessert. If you do the traffic dance and avoid 635, you should definitely give Ole is a chance to put a smile on your face."
