"We were in SoCal for a few days and our plans fell through. Sasabune was super-accommodating and able to seat us on short notice. It should've been Plan A. It's a very Tokyo-style menu. No goofy rolls, tempura, or avocado. Just outstanding ingredients and spare, purposeful technique."
