"There is absolutely no way that the steak my wife ordered was Wagyu beef. A steak knife (we tried both in case one was simply dull) should not have trouble cutting through a $50 8oz Wagyu steak (regardless of which cut of meat it was) ... so much connective tissue and unrendered fat. After trying to chew on a couple of pieces she had managed to cut off, she gave up. We ended up taking the whole thing home to our dog, who was a little more forgiving of the steak 's quality. It would be nice if management encouraged waitstaff to be more attentive to essentially non eaten dishes and proactively inquire about them. To the restaurant 's credit, they usually have a vegetarian dish, which I ordered this time grilled eggplant with pasta. I have no idea if the eggplant was actually grilled, as I could not get past the vinegar?pickling? flavor the eggplant had. I swept it all to the side of the plate and made due with the pasta. Again, another opportunity for waitstaff to notice that something was off. Their cocktails are decent. And some of the sides/starters are good as well, if inconsistent (one time you might love the mushrooms, and the next time leave wondering if you 'd even ordered the same dish). This was our 3rd visit, each a little worse than the one before, and most likely our last. It 's too bad that it also happened on my wife 's birthday, but at least this means we 're less likely to forget about it."
